Even when his level of D is great, he still isn't a starting caliber point guard.

Harden and Dmo are the only two pieces I'm not willing to trade to upgrade the pg position.

"When so much is put on one player, the offense becomes predictable: Turnovers go up and efficiency comes down. Houston doesn’t need an elite point guard, but particularly in the playoffs, they’ll need one who can create shots for himself and/or others"

When I say stuff like this I get called a hater and negative. But regardless of what some may think on here, just because you point out reality does not mean you are being negative or hateful. It's not like I want this to be true. But it is. Rockets front office and coaching staff have their work cut out for them. I have no confidence in our coaching staff but I hope the front office can do something about adding the right players to the mix to overcome lack of strategy we will simply need more talent.

I've been saying this, yes he is better than Jeremy Lin but that doesn't make him a starting pg in the West. Especially with his D regressing.

I would absolutely love to have him, but there's NO way we're getting Lawson for our scrubs. Sorry, but you have to keep it real.

I would take a ball dominant point over Jameer. I would take Canaan over Jameer.

Terrence Jones and a pick would do it I bet. Plus whatever we need to make the deal work.

Exactly. That's why it makes more sense to go after a Lance Stephenson type. BR, like JSmoove, can be had for pennies on the dollar. He's also still young with untapped upside who could come off bench or play alongside Harden. 2 way player who will go hard on both D as well as O.

Fans need to think out of box. Not limit themselves to position titles.

between jones, canaan, papa, shved, NOP pick, knicks 2nd rounders, etc... we have enough to get it done IF the nuggets want to blow things up, and IF morey thinks he's worth the cost.

Whatever Morey do, he has to find a away where Berverly gets sent back to the bench. His defense is no longer at the level of elite and his offense has gotten worse also. He regressed so much this year that its frustrating watching him play. Last year, I was one of his biggest fan, watching him worked hard to get to the position to start on an NBA team. His defense was lock down, and he made open 3s and was decent offensively. This year, he's playing like a D-League PG.

I think you are missing the point. Those teams had more than one creator some had two starters and o bench player who could create. As said in a previous thread point guard is just the more likely spot with Bev playing the way he does.

Uh just who the hell would you trade Dwight for though? Pretty sure no PGs are available of his caliber, and then we'd have no center on the roster... unless you count Joey Dorsey

He seriously suggested Nelson and Calderon would be an upgrade? This isn't 2009..

Even if Nelson and Calderon still had it, I would take 2013-14 Pat Bev. Obviously this season's Bevisn't last season's Bev, but my guess is he's playing through injury. Even an injured Bev is still a better defender than every point guard on this list anyway.

Kyle Lowry, Goran Dragic, Aaron Brooks.

    I take any of them.

Heck, I would think Courtney Lee will do a better job than Bev.

Can we please please just get dragic. I mean ty lawson is a long shot. Dragic is ideal considering Phoenix really has 3-5 point guards. Also expiring contract. Jones + others assets abd players for dragic seems fair

Dragic is the only suggestion there that makes any sense for us, but Phoenix most likely isn't trading him.

Reggie Jackson might be worth the gamble considering how far his stock has plummeted lately, but you have to keep in mind we're probably the last team in the world Presti is going to deal any boom-or-bust type player to.

Bev pretty much wore his knees out trying to make it to the NBA in a bad way. I saw footage of his play in High School and it was smooth and quick. At the NBA level his knees are shot from all the abuse just trying to make it to the league so he has to rely on his somewhat veteran experience but you bet he's bone on bone every night he plays...
