I think Morey knew this MIGHT be a possibility. I wonder if he has a contingency plan even for this...
dude what do you know? you're not a GM. if bosh says houston is the spot if lbj leaves, you do what you can to bring him here. he went back on his word. that's it. we got screwed. when will we be redeemed as fans?
I keep saying this. We have close to 20M to spend if we can spend it in 50 hours and still resign Parsons.
1) Lin is not a key player as long as Harden is on the team. 7M backup pg=overpaid. 2) Asik deal is great for the Rod, cap space+ lottery pick is an awesome deal for a dude who wanted to be traded. 3) Life will go on, the world doesn't end after this season. Cap space can be used for other max fas after this summer. Who knows, maybe we end up with Dh Harden and KD as our big 3.
One might ask the question... is it time to replace McHale right now? Perhaps time to make the big change... and not wait the year (assuming McHale is really a lame duck coach).
Saddest thing is that with the Lin trade now and Chandler's new contract so restrictive, we'll have very few pieces for a future blockbuster trade. Becoming highly unlikely now.
Those 2 guys contributed a lot to the team. I respected Morey for basically saying that he would not unload those two guys unless he was going to get a star in return. I felt that it showed that he appreciated and respected what they brought to the team. But now, he gave those 2 guys up for.....nothing. No Rondo, No Love, No Bosh, No Melo, No Lebron. He also exposed his owner to the amount of $14 million (and beyond) for not taking the team option on Parsons. That's a major screw up.
