Wow! Bima with the unexpected angle again - I should be used to this by now. My initial reaction was the opposite.
Also, no word of Woj confirmation yet. Just heard on rotoworld - via Chris no sauce Broussard. http://www.rotoworld.com/headlines/nba/236436/report-heat-going-after-josh-mcroberts
Woj confirmed that Rockets did confirm the offer but with different salary numbers of 4 year $80mill http://sports.yahoo.com/news/sources--chris-bosh-speaks-with-rockets-183745127.html
Oh yeah! LeBron is jumping up and down now that he knows that Miami got............. *DRUMROLL* MccccccccccROBERTS!!!
I don't get it. How does this McBob signing make it more likely that Miami will re-sign Bosh instead of, say, Melo?
McRoberts is a nice player. Playmaker, shoot the 3 a little for a big man, hustles... Not much of a rebounder. He definitely makes them better than they were with scrubs at PF.
Bima is great with the cap, but the idea that McRoberts being a bad sign for the Rockets is an opinion, not a fact.
? The offer is reported MLE money. The Heat could very well let Bosh go, sign McRoberts to MLE-level money and deduct that from what Bosh would have cost them, and still have cap room left over. If the Heat were earmarking $15 million for Bosh, why couldn't they agree to terms with McRoberts and another free agent (say, Ariza) for $7.5 million each? I fail to believe that Riley would be stupid enough to spend his entire MLE on McRoberts when that team was other holes it needs filling.
it's a guaranteed trip to the finals staying in the east. You get to run into the spurs and OKC in the 2nd/3rd round in the west. I think you would have to consider that.
It is just a verbal agreement in case that Lebron continues. If he does, McRoberts accords to sign for the MLE. But just verbal agreement over an hypothetical situation where Lebron continues. Nothing done. Still all up to Lebron's decision.
