After Game 2 it was clearly Harden, and a bit McHale. After Game 4 it was Lin with his terrible mistake in the last seconds. And still Harden and McHale. At Game 5 it was Beverley who did the same mistake. But he still got strong support, even when playing sick. How can you expect to help your team when playing sick? Beverley is a special nutcase, but still. At Game 6 it was Parsons who saved us but lost Lillard. How can anyone expect that Parsons will be as fast as Lillard? Size doesn't matter here, speed matters. And Lin was benched for TJ. I guess it's on McHale, even if he almost turned it around, got LMA under control and spread confidence in Harden again. Hard call.
How do you miss 4 free throws down the stretch. HOWARD. Buth otherwise, he played great...but we needed those free throws. Coulda iced the game.
It has to be McHale. The rockets lost because they couldn't keep any perimeter players in front of them for more than a couple seconds. You can live with Harden resting on defense if all the other guys are giving max effort but that's not the case. But, the rockets really weren't that great of a team once you get past Howard, Parsons, and Harden. We need more two way players. I think a coach should be able to encourage guys like Parsons, Jones, and Lin to focus on defense. Maybe Jones can become that and Parsons can get back to that but we need it. As good as Asik has been for us it hurts our offense to have him out there with Dwight.
Why didn't we at least try to throw DMo out there for a few minutes. Heck they tried Daniels a few times, didn't they? If they were willing to experiment on an unproven guy, DMo at least has shown throughout the season that he could play better defense than Jones and play better offense than Asik.
Exactly. If we're not going to use DMO, can't we just throw him in to give foul Aldridge and give him a hard time? Sucks for him that he was decent throughout the season and din't get a single minute in the playoffs.
It took McHale until game 3 to realize Terence Jones wasn't a viable option against Aldridge. McHale literally is one of the worst Xs and Os coaches in the NBA, as evidenced by our lack of adjustments and stagnant offense
I rarely post. It was easily McHale's fault for not telling Terrence Jones to guard the 3, and it was the refs for calling fouls when Ashik and Howard barely touched Aldrige for a couple of plays in a row.
You guys do realize the usage of a "scapegoat" is a failure to take every other issue under consideration and a way to allocate all your emotional angst against 1 person or thing so you can play the blame game. There are plenty of posters that LOVE doing that. They'll ignore the 99 other points of relevance to a specific game and select 1 point and blame a player for all 100 points of relevance.
i wanted mchale to play the TTs full time at the beginning of this series. it was already too late being down 0-2 when lma torched them for 16pts above his regular season average.
