I agree with this. I'm all for hiring George Karl, the master tactician. McHale just isn't the bball mind this team needs.

McHail needs to go, period. Just hire someone else who can really draw up plays and have control over his players, especially the superstar on the team.

It seems no one really knows how much the Rockets are paying Kevin Mchale. So the best information we have so far is that he is being paid the same rate as Adelman and JVG. I don't know JVG's rate but Adelman's rate is Five (5) Million Dollars.

Five (5) Million Dollars for (r and r) rest and recreation coaching would be highway robbery.

No way Morey is that stupid to pay an unproven coach 5 mil.

well as many have pointed out there are no salary cap implications, Morey is good at negotiating salaries which have salary cap implications. Perhaps Mchale was collecting a debt of gratitude for a certain Garnett trade.

But your guess is as good as mine. The information is not available on the net. Salaries of other coaches are available.

a poster mentioned that Feigan reported that Mchale is being paid the same rate as Rick Adelman (5 million) but there's no link so its unverified.

The statement in this article that the timberwolves had a dearth of draft picks in the 2003 NBA draft (because of sanctions as a result of the Joe Smith trade) would be a devastating blow to the timberwolves franchise.

You have to consider 2003 was richest draft classes in NBA history , when Lebron James, Chris Bosh , Dwayne Wade, Carmelo Anthony first arrived. Along with other good players like Josh Howard.

The report that McHale will make (about) as much as Adelman did with the Rocket definitely came out. I remember seeing it as well.

The $5M number you are referring to is Adelman's (alleged) T-Wolves salary though, not his Rockets salary.
I wanna say that in the report it said that Adelman made about $4M, not $2M, so I'm guessing McHale is making in the neighborhood of $4M/year.

Either way, the whole discussion is pretty dumb. McHale's salary doesn't matter one bit.

But McHale takes order from Morey well, and it's Les' money not Morey's money.

You have to consider that Mchale is being paid more than Vogel and Spoelstra. The latter are supposedly being paid 2 million and 3 million respectively. So 4 million would be strangely way above market value for Mchale.
