Yeah he was not good on offense, but neither was Harden - throwing that ball to the Jazz for a layup...CLUTCH. DD
I bet it was also just hard playing a team like the jazz after beating San Antonio. But, you have to take care of business no matter who the opponent is. It's just one game. No need to drive off a bridge. Chandler plays and we win. Just shows how important he is to creating on offense.
Classic Harden: carrying us on offense, killing us on defense. Thought he was improving in the effort department on D the past couple games, hopefully tonight was not the start of a regression. AB thinking this was '09-'10 in the last few minutes.. Guess we do need Parsons and Lin.
That's why Bev was made a starter - to make up for Harden's defensive liabilities. In the long run it's not going to work. Harden's lack of effort and Bev's lack of scoring is going to be exploited.
The loss falls on McHale, Harden, Howard, Bev, Brooks ,,,better yet the entire da** team. Not just Brooks...You did see all the offensive rebounds we gave up. You did see Hayward lighten up Harden in the 1st quarter, Did you not see the turnovers down the stretch. Yeah Brooks killed us in crunch time but its not only his fault. Coach should have taking him out once he seen that he couldn't stop Burke.
Ok, the defense was terrible. WAY too many open looks, but we're already aware of his dodgy Defense, so not going to dwell on that. However... WTF is Harden doing BURNING CLOCK and trotting up the court when we're 5 points down and have ONLY 2 MINUTES LEFT. You burn clock when you have a lead. You do NOT burn clock when you're BEHIND. You push the pace, pass a ton and try to score. You don't trot up the court and dribble for 6-7s, then do lazy passes or last second pass dump offs. I mean seriously... Why were we slowing down the pace while we were BEHIND in the 4th quarter? What kind of idiocy is that? We're the #1 offense in the league... we should be Pushing the pace, transition offense, and creating shot opportunities. Where were the constant drives into the paint? At most we saw 1 drive per possession... what happened to 2-3 drives + kick outs? We lost because we were lazy on Defense, and even worse lazy on Offense. And yes, Harden should shoulder a significant part of the blame on Offense because he was the one trotting the ball up the court most of the time instead of passing it up fast before the Utah defense got set. Complete lack of offensive aggression. It was like watching a zombie version of the Rockets offense. Ok, finished venting.
