Assuming he plays in a more traditional offense as opposed to Adelman's system, look for his usage to rise, as well as his raw assist numbers. As far as accolades, they will only come with wins. Which would be a few years down the road at best. Hopefully.
Love Lowry, but he aint beating Parker, CP3, or Westbrook. He won't even have a chance to compete for that spot till Nash retires.
The same as Landry's. Remember when people were saying he could be the next Karl Malone? That said, I do miss Landry!
I love how people don't even know what role player even means anymore, lmao. Here's a hint: a player who has a very well-rounded game is not a role player. Go look up the word "role" please.
2 years on from this thread, interesting to see how opinions have changed. 2 years ago, only 12% thought he could be a very good starter making 1 or 2 all-star games in his career. In the current poll, over 40% think he's a future all-star.
You're welcome. Now let's continue talking about Kyle Lowry's role on this team: running an offense to perfection and being one of the best (if not the best) defensive PG in the league. Quite the role he plays right there! IF ONLY HE WEREN'T SO LIMITED SO THAT HE COULD BE SOMETHING MORE THAN A ROLE PLAYER!!
I'm just excited that well-rounded Courtney Lee has ascended from role player status to something so much more. Truly eye-opening logic with your role player bit.
Hey it's not my fault that you people don't know the definition of role player. Lee is a spot up shooter and good man defender, like Bowen. He's a noted choker and terrible decision maker, has a hard time creating a shot, athletic but has trouble finishing for some reason, amongst other weaknesses. Oh and I never said that if you aren't a role player then that means you're a star.
I think Lowry will be very solid for a long time, but I wonder who he would be able to beat out to become an all-star. He certainly wouldn't be better than Paul or Westbrooks, and even when Nash and Parker have left the league, Raymond Felton and Stephen Curry both look really solid as well, not to mention younger point guards who haven't even been drafted yet.
