Damn, getting released while tending to your sick daughter. Somewhere, Steve Francis doesn't feel as bad.

I was pulling for him to prove a lot of people wrong but it just didn't happen.

I wonder if he will just retire for good this time?

What's the matter with his daughter anyways? She's been sick for now what, a month, so it has to be extremely serious.

But yeah, he's probably done. Never liked him, but it is a shame to see a damn good player go out like that.

Outside of 10 day contracts, what's the most times in a season a player has been cut from a team after signing a fully guaranteed contract that season?

Iverson was cut by 2 teams that he willingly signed with, and vice versa, in the same year. Seems unusual to me.

So I guessed I watched AI's last game in the NBA in Chicago the other night, and he sucked in that game.

The simple fact is that AI is no longer the player that he used to be and it's time to be a role player or hang them up. Since he simply can not be a role player he has no other choice.

Damn, but I guess can sign with New York, which would entice LBJ and another star to come for the next season. Then they would win multiple championship together and live happily everafter

McGrady and Iverson. They take the roster and go back to 2004 and they'll be unbeatable.

AI should retire. His antics in Memphis were too much. I was happy when he went back to the 76ers, but if he can't even stay consistent enough to play out a 1 year contract, no one is going to want him anymore.

If that was the only case, why would he be released? There's got to be something else that has occurred that would lead to this. I doubt the 76ers would do this without a legitimate reason.

Could be a good reason for AI to go out on his terms. Let extenuating circumstances take him out the game. Instead of declined skills and body taking him out.

Sad but entirely predictable. AI is the poster child for former overrated superstar unwilling to take a lesser role for the betterment of his team. I'm still amazed that Memphis cut him loose so quickly. If he had stuck around all season, there's no way this team would be within sniffing distance of .500.

For what it's worth, I think TMac will find a lot of unwilling suitors next year because they might fear he would fall into the AI mold. He could definitely help teams if he was willing to come off the bench or be a third option, but I don't think his ego will allow that.

If you can take your team to the finals pretty much by yourself even in the east you are not overrated.
