I'm guessing that given the context and climate nobody was taking anything lightly.

Glad to see it was a simple misunderstanding.

That being the case it's just shoddy reporting and shoddy FBI work to not include this one simple line:

"The noose shaped door pull was similar to the door pulls on the other garages at the track"

presume all hate crime allegations are hoaxes or willful misunderstandings and you will be correct nearly every time

Glad it's not real and an overreaction. Whoever reported it should apologize for the false alarm though. Doesn't have to be Bubba

I'm becoming more skeptical of reporting as they've learned to be rewarded with these emotional rushes to judgement. Plus partisan polarization goads the tribes to not be impartial when there's a compelling case

Oh....i agree about reporting, but that shouldn't excuse the FBI.

SMH. I was willing to defend this dude. I made sure to point out that he didn’t see the noose. That he was told by NASCAR people the noose was in there, so he HAD to assume it was true.

If he would have came out and said he is glad it wasn’t a hate crime he could have saved himself. Hell, he could have even stayed quiet and I would have continued to defend him. But now he looks like a complete idiot. I just don’t understand what he is looking to accomplish here.

I disagree. There was a garage door pull fashioned as a noose. It had been there long before anyone knew Wallace would move in to that garage.

NASCAR confirmed that no other garage door openers were fashioned that way. So they moved in to this garage during the time of banning the confederate flag and Floyd BLM and Trump follower tensions. They saw it and reported it. Their actions were reasonable and appropriate.

Every bit of this is wrong. It wasn't fashioned as a noose. Its from garage 4 so it wasn't moved. Just all wrong and dumb

Whats weird is you should be happy there was no racism but of course you arent.

Glad it wasn’t a hate crime. Not sure why we are victim blaming though. He didn’t even report it.

Everything I said is correct. I never said the noose as moved. I said Wallace just moved in recently. The Noose had been there for months.

    https://www.timesleader.com/sports/789044/fbi-no-noose-in-nascar-stall-rope-was-a-garage-door-pull

    .

I said everything factual. I am super happy there was no racism, and nothing in my post suggested there was racism. I said it was understandable that Wallace and members of the Richard Petty team reported the noose.

It is understandable that news stories change as new facts are discovered and released. But few people are wrong about what they post as often as you.

Maybe he meant to leave a moose in the garage and made a typo.

Apparently I have a noose on all 5 of my barn doors.

    Oops.

Only if they play the 4 good songs. And no, "Sweet Home Alabama" is not one of them.
