We can't stand it. Have to go OUT, whatever interpretation of it.

CDC has always said they thought it was not a major source of spread but were not positive since it was a new virus. Now they've switched to be more definitive. It's always mostly been about breathing in the virus from others.

Any reason why they chose Erie and Orange counties of NY, instead of Jefferson and Orleans Parish's of Louisiana?

Jefferson/Orleans have slightly more deaths on little over half the population.

You wouldn’t get that sense from reports for the last 2 months, which has gone back and forth for most of it

No one with any education on the topic has even a remote amount of trust for the PRC reporting concerning COVID19 infections or deaths. They have zero credibility.

I agree with you.... what happens when dorms open? Restaurants go on an hour wait on Friday and Saturday nights? Domed sports stadiums? The mall? Airports?

Further, the virus is mutating (as expected) and everyone is assuming it will mutate to a less lethal version but no one knows that for sure.

On a side note, if this comes raging back worse than the first wave, we could see major political changes.

before they said ... “spread from contact from contaminated surfaces may be possible”. Now they are saying “does not spread easily in other ways”.

They changed the wording but it means pretty much the same thing.

Mode of transmission has always been known to primarily be from person to person through droplets. It maybe possible through aerosol, through fecal, through surfaces and that’s still the case today.

More importantly this does not change how easily this virus spread. It does not mean you now don’t need to disinfect high touch surfaces or that you no longer need to wash your hand. Those are good practices to reduce spreading.

The cdc is doing the same thing, mixing viral and antibodies tests and reporting them as the same to the public. It’s unacceptable to do this. The cdc knows better so I think it’s not a simple mistake. I also haven’t seen a separate number for the antibodies tests. What a mess.

I agree the numbers from the PRC should be taken with skepticism but it would be very difficult for them to hide if the numbers were vastly out of sync. I'll point out again they couldn't hide what happened in Wuhan and even had to issue an apology to the family of Dr. Li Wenliang. For the CCP to issue an apology is telling about how much difficulty they are having trying to control the situation and information coming out of it.
