The Bernie camp seems very organized. Better organized than the DNC even, lulz. If their numbers are to be believed, tonight finished up as follows: Sanders - 29.66% Buttigieg - 24.59% Warren - 21.24% Biden - 12.37%
That’s with only 40% of votes. Pete claims to have won based on his team reportedly having Pete leading in 77% of votes. I’m not sure how realistic at least a 6% swing in within 37% of the votes, or how Pete could claim a victory with nearly a quarter of the votes missing... but he did, and maybe he’s right? Quite the kerfuffle.
you nailed it "Iowa Democrats brought this conspiracy theory on themselves": https://thebulwark.com/democrats-did-the-russians-work-for-them/
the idea is to give rural white peoples a chance to shape everyone’s opinions - open their eyes so to speak. Obama’s win in Iowa for example is what made all the black people vote for him. in all seriousness it probably does build credibility but it’s more a reflection that people aren’t doing their homework on all the candidates so let the Iowans do it for them
If these results are in any way accurate, that's a big deal. Not Sanders winning...but Biden finishing that far behind and Buttigieg finishing that strong. There's a fallacy that a candidate in Iowa and NH have to win those primaries. It's often more about the unexpected result and this might be one, IMO. That said...what a f***ing cluster f***. With the eyes of the world on Iowa and the DNC, they find a way to f*** this up worse than what seemed possible. Now the results aren't only not available, but when they are they'll be questioned. Even worse is the ammo they're giving the trump campaign. Maybe worse is the idiotic conspiracy theories like saying this was Clinton, BIden, and Kerry caused this. Takes a special kind of stupid to believe that.
I don't really blame the people who are freaking out and clutching at wild theories. They have a right to be suspicious. The Democratic state and federal parties have a well-earned history of corruption and dumbf***ery that really does make any wild Alex Jones level conspiracy seem plausible. I just feel bad for the candidates and their volunteers/employees. They put in a ton of work into this and the party brass failed them. Not to mention everyone downstream of it. This should not be happening in 2020. What an embarrassment.
I had a hearty laugh at him claiming victory last night when his surrogates were all over the media yesterday morning and afternoon pre-b****ing about the possibility Sanders would declare victory pre-maturely.
you know what they say . . . "With the aid of a computer you can make a mistake in a matter of seconds that would have taken you years to make in the past."
