YouTube tv is my main streaming service but went ahead and also subscribed to fubotv strictly for access to AT&T sportsnet until YouTube tv gets it. YouTube app and user interface way better but at least I get my Rockets now
you can or can’t watch att sportsnet for rockets? Directv Now (now AT&T TV Now) raises their prices on me yet again, and fubo is only $5 more. Worth it for me if I get the Rockets I checked fubo’s site, and the $55 package doesn’t list ATT Sportsnet. It shows up in the available channels for my area, but I wasn’t sure if that was included in the $55 package
I DO have att sports net. Was able to watch Astros all season and now Rox. DVR included btw so I have been recording with world series going on. Watch on phone, etc... Also has nfl network and nba tv along with most soccer channels.
btw... forgot to mention that I don't miss ESPN at all because the wonderful folks here at clutchfans constantly post hot takes from SAS, Max, and the rest which saves my sports entertainment life.
This isn't really "cheap" though. I wish I could cord cut, but these numbers don't make sense. I have Xfinity tv with all channels plus a great cable internet for just over $100, maybe $115 a month. if I cord cut I'll still be paying $50 if I want the good internet, so another $50 for a streaming service doesn't save me any money really. I'm not convinced cord cutting ultimately saves people much, and if it does it's on the margins. Am I wrong?
depends, if you just use 1 tv, then it is about the same, if you use it on 2+ TVs, cost goes up on cable/satellite once you add the HD/equipment/DVR fees to it as oppose to the streaming service, you have have at least 2 connections at once, and don't charge for HD/720p feeds, basic DVR service, and equipment rental fees since you can just buy a $35 Firestick (sometimes as low as below $20). I have ATT TV Now myself, they have raised it to $50 from the original $35 intro price, but still get 100+ channels. I watch Rockets games by other means through the Firestick.
You are WRONG! You have internet regardless so no savings there. When I cut directv (this past summer) my bill was $150+ so I'm saving over $100 a month for a total of $1200+ a year. That's a nice little 3 day vacay or better yet, which is what I've done with my savings, depending on the game it's 2 to 4 additional Rox games per month for me. So that $100 a month adds up to some nice things.
I officially switched. Thanks @ipaman! Outside of the Rockets, all I need is access to the kids' apps like Disney and nick jr. I signed up for disney+ already, and Fubo credentials work for the nickelodeon stuff. I can get ABC and ESPN credentials from a relative. Even sweeter that a friend wants to split the Fubo monthly cost with me. I finally get legal Rockets basketball! DirecTV Now just kept going up and kept switching channels I watched with other stuff just to keep up their channel count. I feel Fubo is a lot more bang for my buck considering what I watch
I've been a cord-cutter until I moved to an apartment that offers Xfinity as part of the amenities. if it wasn't for that, I still wouldn't get cable and I can tell you why from my viewpoint. Aside from Rockets games, I don't care much about any other channels if I have to pay for it. I get my news from the Internet (mostly, Reddit), Entertainment (YouTube, Netflix, Amazon Prime Videos, etc), plus when I do want to watch live TV (mostly as background noise), I use Pluto TV app. As for Rockets games, I used to have League Pass when I lived in a different city. When I moved to Houston, I used VPN with League Pass to spoof different City to get around Sports Leagues/Cable companies BS.
From my experience, the problem has been that you have to constantly switch to get all the channels plus internet for the $100-$115 range. Generally, XFinity and DirecTV offer two-year introductory contracts in that range... but then they jump you to somewhere around $145 after that runs out. You can go back and forth every two years to start a new cycle, but that takes a lot of work, and they know that. The other issue I have with the streaming is the lag effect. Generally, even if you do have perfect Internet, you're still looking at about a 15-second lag relative to regular cable or satellite. So if you're big into being on social media during games, that's a factor.
Welcome aboard and I did the same thing with DISNEY+, ESPN+, Hulu bundle. Hasn't started yet (Nov 12th I think) but already pre-registered. As I mentioned, I watch tons of soccer and Fubo is great for that as well.
They had technical difficulties with a camera and had to switch. That's all. Sorry to spam the 3 of you, but I've asked this question multiple times in other threads to no avail. Do you guys live in Houston, or otherwise inside the ATT Sportsnet region? I'm looking for confirmation whether Rockets over FuboTV works in Denver...or do they have to blackout ATT Sportsnet to cable cutters outside their region?
I live in Houston area and get the ATT Sports Southwest that is home to the Rox and Astros so I get the local games. I'm not sure if Att Sportsnet Southwest would be on in Denver. I do know that they ask you for your region/area when you sign up. That said, Fubo has a 7-day free trial so I would trial it to be sure. -edit- I'd bet you would see ATT Sports Rocky Mnt in your lineup.
