You don't understand the complaint. I ask that you catch up with Locked on Rockets latest podcast or resident capoligist Bimathug's recent tweets. It's about $10 in extra space that has nothing to do with OKC. I think the "Tilman is cheap" camp might have the cherry on top now. There's only one piece left to prove otherwise (and I'm still keeping my fingers crossed) but it looks like any deep runs will come without the help of an owner willing to spend relative to other top teams.
If I’m not mistaken they’re still over the luxury tax so it would’ve been a salary dump for them. I’m sure they don’t want to pay the tax for a team that won’t be in the playoffs. Also, it didn’t have to include OKC! We could’ve found something from a 3rd team to absorb for a trade later in the year perhaps.
It took a week for the reported trade to be completed. Given that amount of time, it would make sense they talked to lots of teams and and trade scenarios to see what could be worked out. Maybe it had nothing to do with the amount of money. Maybe it had to deal with the 3rd team wanted more picks than the Rockets could give or were willing to give. Don't assume just to defend your preconceived notions.
not expanding the trade is purely due to not wanting to go into lux tax territory. we could have easily absorbed salary from OKC, such as patpat, to use in a future transaction
