He has all the skills and physical attributes to make it in the NBA. He was just way out of shape when he came into the league. I'm betting that we will be complaining that we didn't get him on a 2 year deal so we have his early bird rights.
I saw something that said the details were still being worked out. I bet Morey will put a team option on it.
Don't forget about Austin Rivers, Gerald Green, Danuel House, Kenneth Faried all bouncing around. If Austin Rivers, Kenneth Faried can revive their career, Anthony Bennett will flourish especially his 3 pt shot, Reb, Shot blocking, lateral defense on guards.
Don't know about him starting. That's a lot of defensive pressure. Especially alongside Capela. That would be two bigs that don't excel in switches on smalls. I'd rather see him come off the bench in a scoring role. Not just jacking like Gerald Green. But taking shots and making plays off the defense overextending on him. Then as he gets comfortable and confident offensively start coaching him defensively with emphasis on small ball 5 role.
In my opinion.. this is this guy biggest chance to turn his ship around. Don't see no reason why this man shouldn't work his ass off to get on the team.
Low risk, moderate reward. Maybe he turns it around......and signs with another team after the season because MDA won’t play him no matter his level of production. Riding PJ into the ground baby!
For years Daryl has been trying to Draft 6'8 Power Forwards Miss these guys Carl Landry Luis Scola Chuck Hayes (Carroll Dawson signs Hayes as a Undrafted FA) Only one that really developed Donatas Monitiejunas 7'0 Stretch Forwards that were bad Patrick Patterson Royce White Terrence Jones
Can't play Westbrook/Harden/Bennett/Capela in the same starting lineup. Whoever the wing defender is would have a stroke.
In Marcus Rookie year he was a small forward, but was very slow laterally on defense. Got benched for Rookie Sensation Chandler Parsons with defense.
