Well, there was this all-time great team during that time as well...

What I keep thinking is...there was this great season by the 2017 Red Sox, 100+ wins then the WS. They ran it back this season. So far, they are below Wild Card.

Also thinking back to a recent Rox year.

    And I am concerned.

I hope to have my fears allayed. Will I?

F**k that... Most are aware that the Rockets are tied up salary wise and don't have a place to get the 3rd all-star...
However, can the team be a little more competent and snatch up good role players that may fit our team, instead we watch one after getting snatched up by other teams... So much for willing to spend & all loud noise & little to no action.
    Jymchal Green
    Danny Green
    Marcus Morris
    Troy Daniels
    Javale McGee
And a few other 3 point specialist i forgot their name...

All of the above are gone & we should be excited w/ our sad ass summer league team..
Isaiah has been decent Celmon has a nice 3... but he's 5'9 not sure if he'll get play time if he's on our team & we cant grab rebounds for sh*t both summer league & the rockets team.

If we can make the better use of that $40 million maybe things can change.

Why ducking relevance do either of those teams have to the Rockets? I will **** a golden brick if either of those teams eliminate us.

I’m not going to be a homer and say we’re the odds on favorites out west but we’re right their imo.

Clearly the 2nd best team in the west to the clippers.

Denver is good but there getting a little overrated, no true superstar imo.

I love Joker but I don’t think he can be the best player on a championship team. Plus the rockets carve them up they have no answers for Harden and the pick and roll.

Lakers to me are a mess.

I’m a Lebron guy but cmon he’s 35 and going into his 17th year. No way a guy that old can be the best player on a championship team in just not buying.

The rest of the team I wouldn’t even want besides AD and Green, Kuzma also I guess but he’s not even that good shot 30% from theee last year he’s not a shooter.

I don’t know what kind of roster they just constructed but it’s a bunch of has been guys. Avery Bradley is prob their 4th best player and he’s not even that good anymore.

Lakers are a second round team and that’s it.

Utah is scary they could be really good if conley can actually stay healthy for once and Mitchell takes that next step.

The rest of the west is whatever, good but Houston should beat them all.

We have a Chance If we can regain that swag we had 2 years ago.

The Clyde Rockets? I’ll let you fill in the rest; after all, they won (YES!) and looked how?

You mean the swag of having full sized wing players? We're too small and getting old. Small and old is never a formula for winning big in professional sports.

So let me ask you a simple question.

Last year at this exact same time of the FA period, were you being so excited and jumping off the roof when you knew that Morey just signed :

    Melo
    Ennis
    MCW

it makes sense based on what they did last year. They dumped assets and picks to avoid the tax and didn't even use their MLE. I'm sure Morey is trying to make moves but he might be making those moves under spending restraints. The Rockets have absolutely nothing to show for trading Anderson, Melton, a first round pick, and Knight.

Continuity worked out well for the Jazz, look at all those years they ran it back with Stockton and Malone and won lots of games.

I think we all tend to forget that just because it’s not being reported that the Rockets are “in talks with” or “interested in” or whatever that they may in fact be actually talking to these players/agents or working phones for a trade or multiple trades.

It takes 2 parties to agree on a FA contract and takes 2+ parties to make trades/money part work.

Tbh, yeah it seems disappointing that the Rockets didn’t get any better, but at this exact point, this roster hasn’t gotten worse either (IMO)

Well what about trying to trade 4 picks for Jimmy Butler and then trying to max him later? I believe us trying to get under the tax last year and that was a mistake(and I blame Tillman). But as of right now, i dont think we are constrained spending wise. No way to truly know though.

That was the word last year too when they were apparently willing to trade for Butler and then max him this off-season. I'm not as worried about them being willing to spend for another star that could lead them to a title. But I am worried about them spending on marginal guys that may or not make a difference. The Rockets don't really need another top 10 player, they just need reliable rotation players and it doesn't seem like they are all that willing to be a tax paying team to get them.

Things are pretty dire around here. Guess we should beware the Suns as well.

THE ROCKETS WERE NOT PERFECT. They need to improve the role players. It takes a lot of Harden to keep carrying us like this. What a dumb article.
