Verlander needs to work on his command. He's really at the point where you'll just bet to find out what inning is he going to give a HR. Astros offense is so up and down it's crazy. I can't wait till Correa is back.
What are you basing this on? There were articles about him while at Detroit and when he got to Houston stating the exact opposite
“When I first got to the organization, they kind of showed me some of the stuff that they can do, and try to do,” he said. “When you get older, every competitive advantage is an advantage, and I wanted that. I joke with guys in the organization that I was probably the first pitcher to come over and ask for more information, because they can kind of give you a lot. I want more. Give me everything you’ve got.”
I tend to think there is something to the ball being different and having more carry to it this season. Combine that with JV being a fly ball pitcher. And, what may have been fly ball outs in the past are now homeruns.
I need Spinger, Bregman, and Altuve to homer tonight. Have tonight picked for my Topps Home run derby cards entry. First of a few chances.
Ugh, another national game. Crappy announcing and a chance of not showing up at the plate on national TV. C'mon, 'Stros.
I have no problem with Brantley sitting these next two games, and wish he could sit out the all star game also. Need Uncle Mike healthy, would only do minimal good if Correa/Diaz come back and Mike is down
I hate that they call anyone over 30 "uncle" on this team. Ironically, Springer who started that with Morton will soon be 30 himself. Uncle Altuve also.
It's a real contrast to our announcers. Blum actually knew Skaggs (of course, Blum knows EVERYONE), but his commentary on the tragedy was concise and meaningful. And all the commentary from our guys has been concise and respectful during this series. Of course, these national guys don't actually believe baseball games are interesting on their own, which is why they see it as their duty to inject stories and themes and whatnot into every single one of them. Not that this isn't a tragedy worth mentioning, but it's also their opportunity to have something to pull at your heartstrings, which is their real job, and you should thank them for it, stupid viewer.
