Lelz KD and Irving are one of the worst tandems, both are not known to be 'unselfish' on the court though.

Tilman's Rockets like to embarrass themselves.

This is all part of having a team owner suffering from New Owner Syndrome. He's a dumbass who thinks he knows everything and carries himself as if he's invincible when really he is an embarrassing failure.

The hope is that after a few years of making the Rockets the joke of the NBA* he will learn some humility.

*Yes I know the Knicks are the real joke of the NBA but Tilman is coming for them

I’m not disagreeing that there’s something wrong here. But the Rockets are nowhere near the level of ineptitude that is the Knicks. They’re on another planet of dumbassery.

 

As an NBA owner, yeah. As I said, this can happen with new owners. Vivek did several dumb things in Sacramento when he stepped in despite being a very intelligent person by all accounts. He even used his daughter's youth basketball team as a reference for some ideas. Prokorov in Brooklyn is another example of suffering from this infliction. Ballmer's first year or so wasn't good (making Doc and coach and GM).

New Owner Syndrome is basically where a guy was wildly successful in some business venture, gets rich, then thinks they have the answers to NBA success because they found the answer in another line of business. But... they don't, and they end up making asses of themselves.

 

This forum is toxic right now. If you guys think it's bad now, burning it to the ground won't solve anything. Tilman could easily be a Sarver or Dolan type of owner, don't get too big for your britches and make rash wishes. This can get a lot worse than it is with the personnel we have.

I agree with that. But "a dumbass embarrassing failure" might be the wrong choice of words. Plus, it's not like these same things weren't happening under Les Alexander. Blaming the Butler thing on Tillman seems a bit misplaced, too. He wasn't coming here. If he really wanted to, there would've been 2 meetings yesterday...not 1 meeting with Miami and one sometime next week with the Rockets. There are just some things out of their control.
