Awesome, 4 days and counting until he no longer can opt in. Let's hope we see a deal done before then. If not Morey will still go for it, but I cannot see us winning a championship being hard-capped with no depth.

Trust that there is a plan to fill out the roster in case of hard-cap situation. I am sure Morey already has multiple multi-move scenarios planned out. That's why he is the GM and we are the fans who can't see around all of the corners.

I'm sure he has plans A-Z. Plans don't always work out and we only have to look back 11 months to see that. He loves stars. I think hard-capping for a third star will not work out. I'm sure he has a plan for that. I do not see it working. We shall see.

It is just that you already have sentenced a S&T and hard capping as not working out. How about taking a more wait and see approach.

Like, it may work out or may not. I am not a GM, so I don't know all of the avenues.

I am pro adding Butler though.

    Woj:

Houston's hopes are this: once free agency starts they can convince Jimmy Butler to push the Sixers to do a sign-&-trade with Houston. They don't have cap space to sign him in Houston but teams elsewhere do. If Butler goes to Sixers, if you don't do a sign-&-trade with Houston, I'll go somewhere else & you won't get anything for me. Let's work out a sign-&-trade with the Rockets and then you'd be looking at potentially a Eric Gordon & Clint Capela to make the money work. That's one option for Jimmy Butler when free agency starts this weekend.

The Sixers are motivated to keep Butler. They traded for Butler & Harris with the intention to re-sign both. There will be a lot of balls in the air in this free agency & a lot will center around this SIxers team.

Seems like the opt in trade is not happening anyway, which was the best scenario for us, with a sign & trade we would lose both Gordon and Capela, and also get hardcapped...

My guess is they have a plan if they lose Capela.....(DeAndre perhaps??)

Yeah, i guess the Rockets are confident they might be able to get a solid center with the MLE, i'd say DeAndre at this point, cause i don't see a guy like Lopez coming here for 5/6M when it's likely he'll get at least twice that money from the Bucks or another team. Other centers i don't know, Horford and Gasol will obviously get much more, maybe Cauley-Stein if the Kings renounce him? Dedmon?

Or maybe we could still make it work with Gordon or Capela and the minimum guys plus Nene...?
