If I'm trying to convince you to quit, I'm certainly not going to start negotiating an extension with you. Instead, I'm going to make it obvious that you're a lame duck and gone after one more year. This is a bunch of people speculating about rumors that they read. We have no idea what's going on. How do we know that an extension isn't already in place and will be announced once the new coaches are hired? Maybe D'Antoni wants a longer extension that what the Rockets are comfortable offering? He is almost 70. Bottom line is that we don't know. We have no idea what's going on behind the scenes. People are reading whatever meaning they want into it and others are taking it as fact.

Doc or Carlisle are the names we know, obviously that isn’t happening. I would go for new blood, but I don’t pay enough attention to know who that would be. Ty Lue would be a downgrade from Pringles.
