I would pay Marwin 10M if someone would take Yuli. He has underperformed his contract but with only 8-10 teams caring to compete nowadays, he is a contract the Stros are stuck with and will mean Marwin signs elsewhere. Gattis will go as well, they might look to sign a veteran DH/1B to a deal for 1 - 2 years max.

I would be scared to give correa big money. He is get 30mil+/year contract and he hasn't shown he can stay healthy. I don't know if bregman can be as good as correa at his peak, but he stays on the field.

Everyone wants it to be so, so right.

    I agree.

Yes, this. Let's for sure give Alex Bregman fewer plate appearances in order to "protect" Josh Reddick. That seems like a smart trade-off.

I was trying to come up with a sarcastic idea of moving Altuve down but it was just too dumb...much like advocating for moving Reddick to the 2 spot.

Sorry for bumping the off season thread. This is where I should have asked:

Yuli > White (but that doesn't mean Yuli is awesome)
Goldschmidt should have been a bigger target.

    Get White out of here..

If every pitcher can do what Odorizzi did last night to White, White should pack his bags. Any pitcher that can consistently pepper the outside part of the plate for strikes with something besides a 4S fastball (even a 4S fastball with plus velocity would likely work) will dominate White.

I think I'm more concerned about Yuli than White. Yuli hitting like crap will be harder to address than if White continues to flame out.

Shhhh! No one is suppose to talk about the elephant in the room because Yuli doesn't resemble an elephant and hits singles.

    Tyler White?

I would like to give him more than 50 at bats before I worry about him.

In his last 300 at bats going into this season he had an OPS of .880.

If the Astros decide they want to bring up Mo Vaughn from AAA and move on from White, I will support it....... but I don't think that White really has had much of a shot this season.

Also, Yuli Gurriel has been as bad or worse than White this season, and he has twice as many at bats.

Some guys just need a larger sample size.

Is Tony Kemp and his .620 OPS now out of the fire because of the game winner or is he still fair game?

When do we get to pack Josh James' stuff and tell him he can come back when he starts throwing 99 mph again?

White nearly falls into the un-rootable category, although not quite, and that is what this comes down too. There have been a few in my opinion. And for no particular reason, other than they are what they are. Sid Bream, Sid Fernandez, Pete Incaviglia, Ivan Rodriquez, Andy Stankiewiez, and Brett Wallace. White just doesn't have any kind of it factor at this point.

Because he will never be an athletic defender nor does he have speed, He is left with hitting. And he better do that pretty well if he wants to stick around. A bit like Gattis in this regard.

Yuli hit the game 5 HR against Kershaw. He gets as much time as he needs.
