Well, TBF, he is from Arlington, and likely grew up rooting for them. I don't hold that against him, he'll always be an Astro to me. He and his wife live in Houston during the offseason, it's all good to me.

That was the biggest load of bs I’ve seen in some time. Ump was headhunting wanting to throw guys out.

Yeah the "I can do what I want" is the worst possible thing an umpire can say. I get being an umpire is extremely hard, but this is what you sign up for. People are going to get upset, but you're not supposed to just beg the guys to mouth off so you can abuse your power.

 

Saw that same thing. **** that ump. And good for Hinch going out there again and again. I love his fire. Hinch was about to throw haymakers lol

 

Seems the umps have become a bigger issue each year especially for the Stros.

 

I think this all might be a clever Hinch psych job for his players. They needed some sauce to get going and he provided it.

 

Just totally unprofessional. I'm sure he'll get a kindly worded memo from the ump review guys asking him to please not do that again, or else we'll have to send you another memo.

 

these umps are outta control. they instigate and bully with no fear of repercussions from MLB. It's a joke. This guy's strike zone has been unacceptable on a professional level.

 

People that don't want robo umps...but, but, we don't want to take the human element out of the game. I'm all for the human element of pitcher vs. batter. I don't watch sports to see how refs/umps can dictate a game.

I was critical of Hinch in his early years for not standing up for his players but I must say the last couple of years he has stood strong and I know his guys appreciate.

 

Will never understand why some fans want umps calling strikes.



Why do these bafoons get unchecked power over something they very clearly don’t have a great gasp of? No knock on them personally, but some of the calls have been laughable. What a joke.

Only one of them. I dont know who which one is which but the play by play guy has been really good and complementary towards the Astros, while the color guy is a pure d******d.

 

Was he off the bag with the tag still on him?
