I'll be curious to see if the Thunder try to dump salary this summer if the team doesn't win the title(or get to the Finals). They're basically on the hook for nearly the same amount of payroll next year. Felton comes off the books and Noel and Patterson have player options, but otherwise everyone else of importance is signed for at least one more season. I'm pretty sure they'll look to get rid of Roberson who'll be in the last year of his deal. I just can't see OKC paying the same amount in luxury tax next season if they don't have anything to show for it.

They were one of the teams that managed to make money in 2017 while also paying the tax. So they must have a decent net profit compared to other teams.

Their current ownership has pretty deep pockets, and have indicated they aren’t concerned with the tax. They didn’t bat an eye on resigning George and giving an extension to Grant this summer. And they didn’t dump Anthony outright, but picked up Schoeder’s salary. As long as they continue to make decent runs in the playoffs, I think they aren’t going to worry too much. They’ve got a lot of good young players, so they likely let Roberson and Patterson walk in two years.

Paul George is having a career year, they have been mostly healthy, Westbrook is gonna average another triple double, and yet they are probably gonna fail to win 50 games again. Westbrook hasn't been able to do anything of significance without a healthy Durant.

I'm sure they will be hyped up again next season though.

Poster child for inefficiency. I imagine this is what most players would do when they get the ball a lot. But apparently everyone thinks they can put up Harden numbers when they do...bc it's so easy, amirite?
    Wow, 25% from 3? yikes...

I think they've fallen to 6th now after San Antonio beat Golden State. We'll see, but I think this loss to Miami might be the dagger in this team's fight up the seeding ladder.

I don't have the numbers but I guarantee if you look at Brodie's attempts when they were winning with PG13 and look at their precipitous decline in wins you will notice they went way up. Brodie could not stand for PG13 to get the spotlight. It happened with Durant too. It's not in him. This began before PG13 got hurt.

So is Paul George still ahead of James Harden in the MVP voting? I just need to know what to expect.

Does the fact that the Thunder are 5-10 in their last 15 matter?

The Rockets are 15-4 in their last 19..... not that it matters.

25% isn't THAT bad for him. He's 28.2% on the season (30.9% career) - so only a little down.

Why is he jacking up 5.4 per game at 28%??

Why is he not in the MVP mix?

Because he isn't even the best player on his own team?

Because his team is 5-10 in it's last 15 games?

Because he is shooting 28% on 3's and 65% from the free throw line?

Because he already stole one MVP award?

Isn't he shooting way better than Giannis who is a candidate from longer range?

I mean everyone is shooting better than Alphabet.......it ain't hard.
