Have they gone into more detail about why they checked maldanado’s glove? Was wondering if the umpires themselves saw something, or if Boston asked them to check.
The 12 there is as noteworthy as the 0. Those guys had a total of 19 plate appearances. Bregman had only 1 AB. 3 walks and a HBP. Scored 2 runs on 0 hits. Altuve's walk in the 9th I think is rather important yet easily overlooked. He's been chasing a lot of bad pitches lately and not getting much from it, so it was good to see him get on base and score. Yesterday's game was won by patience at the plate leading to quality at-bats. To the tune of drawing 10 walks from Red Sox pitchers. If the Astros put together the types of at-bats they were showing yesterday AND get a few more hits, Boston won't have a prayer.
I know it’s impossible for Pedro to be impartial... but this literally has become the Red Sox pregame and postgame show.
I’ve never seen more analysis over a line drive past the 3b. They’re almost dissecting it like the Buckner play. Springer laced the ball. Would have taken an amazing play to stop it.
Pedro's Red Sox fandom gets in the way of him offering pretty sound analysis regarding the Astros pitchers.... he'd normally have gushed over Verlander's gritty performance, but couldn't get past the dissapointment regarding Sale. Cole could strike out 15 tonight... but if Price falters, THAT will again be the story line.
Of course, back then it was only the WS, so having 20+ victories only in the WS makes for a hell of an accomplishment
