Looks like Morey has this all but wrapped up. Just give the picks they want so we can keep PJ. I believe!
i feel like we need to just lower our expectations and hope for the best. that's easy to say i know but i'm just trying to be cautious over trusting a twitter account with 600 followers. i definitely believe we're contending to get butler but having out expectations be too high can only lead to negatives. but hey here's to hoping we can get butler without giving up tuck, if anyone can do it its morey tha gawd
Likewise. I like reading all of the tweets that benefit of, of course, but I take the with a giant grain of salt and don't put much stock into them.[/QUOTE]
im very skeptical of all this since shams or woj haven't said anything about rockets being in deep discussion with the wolves. seems like BS tbh
Talent alone won’t win a championship. I don’t care how much talent you have, if guys don’t enjoy playing with each other, that talent will not reach its full potential. You need the perfect blend of talent plus chemistry to win a championship. Also, the roles on a team must be clearly defined and everyone buys in. It makes sense to move Gordon for Butler because Butler is the better player and Gordon’s role would be marginalized in such a scenario. Just like it made sense to include Beverley in the CP3 trade because he was going from a starting role to looking at 15-20 minutes a game off the bench. However, Butler wouldn’t be coming here to take Tucker’s place, and they could co-exist very well together on the floor. As for the Harden, Parsons, Lin team, they had the chemistry part down, but not the talent, you are correct.
If he were to buy in, sure. But good luck convincing an all-star caliber player in his prime that’s looking for a max deal in the offseason to essentially become the Rockets’ luxury Trevor Ariza model. Butler has been the best player on good teams, he isn’t going to settle for a 3 & D role in Houston.
Are you saying Jimmy Butler isn’t gonna play defense with the Rockets despite playing all-nba defense his entire career and essentially ruined his stay in Minnesota cause he wanted KAT and Wiggins to play defense too?
I don’t question the defensive fit, and I’ve always liked Butler’s two-way game (as you said, he gets to the line a lot). My concern is that it will not be easy to convince him in a contract year to take a lesser role on offense. I know he can do it, but will he buy in and willingly do so.
