Damn right it triggered me, and I don't GAF. It's not snowflake behavior, it's the way any decent person would react.

Not to be completely ignored, Trump staged the event in front of a portrait of Andrew Jackson. Someone with any sense of history and respect for those he was supposed to honor would have have known better to stage the event somewhere else.

Do we really have to play 6 degrees of wrong doing every time Trump does something stupid?

Here's a better solution... Trump stops doing "stupid" (your word) and offensive (most other's word) things.

He will probably do exactly that when it's Jared K taking a plea deal. Today's stunt is just for Flynn's news.

I really don't care all that much if Elizabeth Warren wants to identify as a Cherokee because of some belief regarding her heritage. I find it strange, but beyond that it doesn't bother me. But I'm not an American Indian -- if I was, whether it bothered me or not would have more significance.

    The more relevant ethical questions:

Did she do it for professional gain? Unknown.
Did she gain professionally from such self-identification? Unknown.

Well, I AM a Native American, my paternal grandmother was born on the Mescalero Apache Reservation in New Mexico. I know many Native American Indians that do not look like my grandmother (or me, for that matter, even though my mother was very Caucasian-looking with a German background). I also know that many Native Americans "proof" is from ancestor stories since documentation is very difficult to come up with. I believe folks researched her stories and came up with 1/32th but of course folks can question without documentation. And as far as I know there isn't any indication she benefited from claiming Native American ancestry.

That said, Trump choosing to attack Warren during a scheduled ceremony to recognizes Native American war heroes is outright offensive. Doing it in front of a portrait of Jackson was also offensive (I doubt he chose the place, but someone should have known better).

Proof that @RocketsLegend is, in reality, Sarah Sanders:

""What's offensive," Sanders said, is "Sen. Warren's lying about her heritage to advance her career."

What's really sad is the US President saying something stupid offensive is what is unsurprising now. It would be unusual if a week passed where Trump didn't say or tweet something stupid and offensive.

Some of us just don't think the President of the United States should be calling people names publicly, whether insulting to large groups of people or not. Crazy, I know.

What’s offensive is Trump claiming to be a successful business man to advance his political career.

We do not want Trump everyday stupid behavior to become the new normal.
