Nothing. If we don't have what it takes to get Melo, why would we be included in a trade for him to go somewhere else? That means we have nothing to offer the Knicks. Cavs would be sending Love and players they like to the Knicks, not to the Rockets.
Shouldn’t matter to Morey one way or another. The only transaction that’s worth it to the Rockets is Melo in, Anderson out. Any rotation player in addition to Anderson is not worth it. Even if it was Ariza alone. Melo can’t replace Ariza’s defense. He can replace Anderson’s scoring and defense (or lack thereof)

This is pretty much how I feel. Gordon and Capela, who I assume the Knicks are interested in, are more valuable to me than Carmelo. Take Anderson or don’t. I’d trade Ariza but he may be untouchable with Paul and Harden.
Melo cant replace Ariza's defense, but Tucker can. If it comes down to getting Melo, Ariza should be gone
Agreed. I'm not a fan of Ryan and i think Melo would be an upgrade, but at this point of his career he's far from a star like he was years ago. Definitely not worth losing guys like Ariza and Gordon.
Ariza’s length and versatility makes him a better defender than Tucker in my opinion. Tucker is good, but he’s aggressive like Bev. Might be better suited off the bench. Luc Mbah Moute is on the roster, too.
