I can't figure BOB out. All I know is I hated the offensive playbook last year. Was that all the offensive coordinator? I doubt it. Is BOB a good coach who just had to work with less than great quarterbacks? I don't know either, because the quarterbacks struggled. Did some do better on other teams? Yes. Was that because Bill improved their game or because they had a better game plan and better coaching and protection on their new teams? Who knows. Did Rick and Bob let us down with their choices of quarterbacks the past 4 years? Absolutely, but what's done is done.

All I know is that it can't possibly get worse, and that we have some hope for the future at the QB spots and RB spots. I have liked our game plan better so far this year, even if we haven't hit many long targets yet. It's still better than run run pass, run run pass 2 yards, punt. Hopefully this year we will have some excitement with some of our new players, and with Bob taking over this offense. I am looking forward to this season.

Tom Brady did not start in his Rookie year. He learned the NFL game from the bench first. That's what we need from Watson too. Watson is a smart player I'm sure he can learn well from the bench like Tom Brady did.

When it comes to the QB position and offense overall I've been saying that and trying to make myself believe it for several years now and BOB proves that he can make it worse every year.

Hopefully that starts to turn around.

I think he's looked at as damn near part of the McNair family at this point. IMO that's why Bob McNair has stood by him this long.

True he's been in the Mcnair family for awhile now for me it's been his picks at QB if Watson works out in a year or so he may just get to hang around.

For sure, if Watson pans out, Smith will have a lifetime job. But if BOB ****s up this year I think they'll want to fire his ass and bring in a competent offensive coach to help Watson along.

I was thinking more Chris Chandler/Steve McNair. Either way both worked out well.

I absolutely love Watson, thought he would wow us all in the preseason, but clearly, he has a lot of work to do. Savage it is. I am on board. Let's beat the Jags....bad.

Savage for the little experience he has. But I wouldn't mind seeing Watson, he looked good in G1 and 2. Excited about Watson and Foreman!

I have to agree with you, I don't think it matters what the Texans do. To me in the owners eyes it will only fall on the coaching staff. I feel like rick is untouchable and it's pretty annoying

    It can get worse.

Remember we thought it couldn't get worse than the Hoyer-mallet carousel

It's funny you mention that because I had this horrible feeling in my gut today. I was thinking about how great Savage looked when he came in after Osweiller got benched, and then how terrible he looked the following week. I sure hope the real season doesn't repeat itself with inconsistency at that position. I'm just trying to stay positive knowing Brock's gone, but a part of me knows that this is still the same QB that nobody wanted to start in the last couple years. I sure hope he has what it takes to give us what we want.
