Today's high tech leading edge garbage gear causes more injuries than ever. The heel was never meant to be cushioned but for balance. T
Based on the location of the fracture, Ben's foot is too wide for his shoe. When he lands it there's not enough room for lateral expansion.
They still can. He's far from the first to suffer a Jones fracture. Actually he's not even the first this week (Cameron Payne, OKC). He could technically return at some point around the all-star break this season, however I wouldn't surprised if they sit him his rookie season similar to what the Blazers did with McCollum when he fractured his 5th metatarsal during their training camp his rookie year. They have a lot of growth and development as a team before they are ready to do anything series. So it sucks for them this year, but doesn't necessarily throw of their long term plans.
Well there is one thing I know for sure... this injury isn't related to working too hard. Hopefully he heals up.
He gained 33 lbs in like half a year? Hadn't kept kept up with his offseason this much until now. There aren't too many ways to do that without "supplements" and maintain some semblance of being in shape. "Supplements" are known to lead to an increased fracture rate of bones. I wonder if it is related.
Poor kid. Feel really bad for him. I don't believe in Karma, but if I did, I would say this is the universe teaching the sixers a lesson about ignoring Embiid and Noel injuries during the Hinkie smear campaign.
Just horrible news for ALL of basketball ....This kid's got the Magic/Elgin Baylor thing going...transcendent talent.
This team wow. If they end up drafting Josh Jackson or Dennis Smith. And if everyone ends up healthy. I don't even know what to say. They have a LOT of potential.
Oh man, this trully sucks! For Simmons, Philly, Aussies. It seems that Aussies keep getting these elite potential superstar prospects relatively often and then something happens. Bogut, Exum, Simmons. Edit: what a typo... missed the 'u' in Aussies.. Sorry!
