Harden vs Klay

harden is a leader? haven't heard a good joke on this site for a while. lol.

while comparing individual players in a team sport can be hard and often times meaningless, klay has not been given the chance that harden has gotten. so there's no way to know for certain. but to think klay isnt even remotely comparable to harden is... well, stupid.

 

Comparable? Sure. They're absolutely comparable. However, if you compare them, look at the numbers and the consistency and context of the rosters and coaching surrounding them, and then conclude that Klay Thompson is a better player, then that is...well, stupid.

 

So because someone does NOT AGREE with you their an idiot or stupid... WOW!!!

I love the Rockets have been a fan since they first arrived him from San Diego, but in those past years, their have been other players with other teams who were better than the players on the Rockets team....

In this case, in my opinion, Klay has earned the title of the best SG in the NBA THIS YEAR. I will respect your opinion that you feel that Harden is the best, you should also respect others opinion when they feel he's not.

If someone came in and started arguing that say jeremy lamb was the best SG, would you accept and respect that opinion? What about sasha vujacic? Is there a line where an opinion becomes stupidity?

 

Klay is not anywere near harden, dude can't dribble pass rebound which are pretty important factors. And for how great Klay is at shooting harden still had the higher TS% this past year in hardens worst shooting season in 5 years and klays best shooting season.

I like Klay hes a super duper role player specialist. He can straight gun it and get buckets. But for anyone to think he can come ima lead a team as number one option to even 41 wins let alone 56 with half your roster injured, well that is stupid.

Certain things are debatable, certain things are preferential, which is something I can respect.

There is nothing wrong with saying Klay ≥ Harden for 2015-16, in fact that's what most people who aren't Rockets homers believe

 

Judging by live ball turnovers, harden can't dribble or pass either.

He can't play defense either and his 3pt shooting was pretty mediocre this past year as well.

His plus minus this past year was mediocre at best

 

I mean, there's nothing wrong with saying it so long as you don't mind your betters thinking that you are a fool for saying it.

 

Take Klay, put his exact same production on a team that doesn't feature other elite players, defenders, and coaching, and none of y'all are talking him up like this.

 

Or simply put harden on gsw and klay on the rockets

As I've said many times before, Klay is not even the second best player on his team. Draymond is clearly much more important to the GSW than Klay is, as is evidenced by the pathetic performance by the Warriors in game 5, when Draymond couldn't play due to suspension. If the Warriors had won the title, the finals MVP probably would have gone to Draymond. Advanced stats also indicate that Draymond is just as important to the Warriors as Curry is, Klay is at distant third.

My discussion is not about if Klay is the 1st, 2nd or 3rd position...

Klay and Harden play the same position...

This year (2015-1016 season) Klay was the best SG.. May not have been before this season, may not be after this season...

Oh I think people understand what you are trying to say, it's just so ridiculously far from reality that they can't accept it as a real opinion. Thinking that the 3rd best player on the Warriors is better than a guy that averaged 29/7.5/6 is stuff that jokes are made of. If you were a huge Warriors fan, I guess I could understand you having that opinion, but that's really the only way it makes sense.

 

Klay just had a playoff run where he averaged 25 ppg on .590 ts% and guarded the other teams best offensive perimeter player.

Harden just had a playoff run where he had a negative net rating and took a nap on the court.

For one year, Klay was better.

Everyone needs to quit whining about it and focus on he fact that Harden should be much better than he was in 2015-16.

It's a valid comparison... If you think Harden was the best sg this year.. Than great... that is your opinion... If others think someone else is the best sg than great.. that's their opinion...
