Great post, I'm more sold on Vogel than you, because I do believe he ran the defense and I believe he instills discipline despite reports to the contrary. Bird needed an excuse to axe such a respected figure and he's running him through the gutter behind channels. Messina was my favorite before he was available and Budenholzer would be amazing.

It is a bit disappointing to not hear anything about any of the San Antonio guys. Seems other than Vogel and Morey you and I see pretty eye to eye. I think Morey has made some mistakes but I also believe Les called some serious shots that set back the franchise including the hiring of McHale and the targeting of Lin over offering Dragic that team option. Only thing I truly fault Morey for is Marcus Morris over KL. Leonard was a top five talent and shouldn't have dropped that far.

 

I love JVG, one of my all time favorites, but if they have a chance to land Vogel they should do it. Les should open up the checkbook and do whatever it takes to make it happen. We need a REAL COACH for a change.

 

Funny how ESPN reports the Knicks have reached out to Vogel, but don't report the Rockets have.


Hard to determine if this is just lack of information privacy by the Knicks and superior information privacy by the Rockets or ESPN's usual Houston hate not wanting to shed us in any sort of positive light

If Joerger goes to Sacramento, you can only think it's going to mean big things for Cousins - knowing he's playing for a coach who has his back.

 

I would prefer Vogel over Joerger and Van Gundy.

true..true.. Joerger has awesome record and knowledge but I hate people who don't commit. Shouldn't have made any noise during your contract. Gundy is a bit old fashion. Boring. Not to mention he's been out of the league for years. Vogel is neutural and good

 

My friend who's a pacer fan told me Vogel's offensive scheme sucked. They had 3 good perimeter players in George, Ellis and Hill but their offense still ranked near the bottom of the league. He said Vogel's style is similar to Mark Jackson and the Pacers will be better off with a new coach.

 

Rockets want to be sucking on coach like the way they pursuit a real PG?

Paul George and Monta Ellis are NOT good perimeter players. They are more effective mid range and they're most dangerous getting to the basket.
