Jefferson will make the 53. I guarantee it. The reason I am so confident in Jefferson making the team is that this morning before the team headed over for the Texans Luncheon, Kubiak told Jefferson and Quessenberry that they would have to make a speech. At the luncheon Kubiak told them to stand up and said his was joking about them making a speech. Kubiak would not have joked with them if he planned on cutting them.

I think Carmichael will get cut. His playing time has dropped off significantly. He's going to have to play really well on special teams if he has a chance.

Anybody see Lemon get injured? Me neither. I guess the Texans didn't think he'd pass through waivers.

Lemon was more deserving of making this team than Martin in my opinion.

Keshawn averaged close to 12 yards/punt return last season I believe. While he has butterfingers as a receiver, I think his value comes more as an experienced punt returner.

He will never reach his potential due to Houston's ST coach. He needs to go.

10 Linebackers, maybe they don't want to cut a draft pick, and, they will all play special teams

Punt returners are a dime a dozen in my opinion. The two best in the league last year were both manning that duty for Texans in consecutive years.

Lemon is a solid #3 IMO. Not now, but will be in time. Guy has knack for getting open ala Owen Daniels who is not a superior athlete at his position either.

I haven't seen much from Lemon, other than him getting open against third stringers and dropping passes.

At least Martin gets open against second and sometimes first stringers, and then drops the ball. Plus Martin has return ability. Plus Martin has reverse ability.

I just haven't seen the hype behind Lemon. I know he's had a good camp, but he's done nothing to show he's anywhere as good as the five receivers that will make the team. He would be a nice practice squad stash though. I think he's a Jeff Maehl clone.

Lemon was sent to IR yesterday .... seems they didn't want to run the risk of losing him in trying to stash him on the PS which he would have had to clear waivers to do. I don't think he would have cleared .... He has a knack for getting open.

    Update on yesterday's cuts:

David Hunter and Mike Smith who were waived/injured cleared waivers. They now revert to IR.

Ja'Gared Davis was claimed by New England. All other players that the Texans cut cleared waivers and are now free agents.

Is Brennan Williams healthy or going on IR? I don't think I've seen him at all in game action.

He started practicing last week but after game, Kubiak mentioned the knee was still bothering him a little. Honestly, he could use the practice of being on the active roster but if we are keeping Wood, we could use the roster space.

Mohamed I believe isn't eligible for Practice Squad, Montgomery wouldn't make it past waivers and while I was of the same opinion, I worry Chris Jones might be the same after last night's performance.

I really liked Carmichael last preseason and think the time he hit the field wasn't as bad as many make him sound in the regular season but I don't know if we can keep him over anyone on the bubble at this point. That being said, I wonder about Tim Dobbins as well, he has been awfully quiet this preseason and with Mays on the roster, I could see Rick Smith pushing more toward guys like Collins or Mohamed since they seem to be better at coverage.

How many players can we have on IR??? PUP??

I do like the stable of RBs we have now...But i really like Woods, he can be Tate's replacement for next year. Johnson has the potential to be like a Darren Sproles but i expect him to be on the practice squad. I can see Deji Karim being our Kick off specialist, and Keshawn Martin being our Punt returner.

All that being said: Would be cool to have a 4 running back stable but not sure if it will happen.

    Go Texans

I'd definitely take Wood over Karim as 3rd RB. Karim has done nothing to distinguish himself during the preseason. Experience is overrated.
