Could have used him tonight on Nene/Okafor instead of having Delfino do it after everyone played heavy minutes last night. I hope he tanks the physical and returns to us Horry-style.
The only reason why I'm not too terribly angry at McHale today. On the last possession, no coach would ever go to Okafor for the last shot. Unless, of course, the choice of defender is walking stick Dmo or Carlos "please don't make me play the 4" Delfino.
Patrick Patterson is the human power forward. I hope he retires a Rocket after several seasons with the Kings.
Yep. This is why I said the trade got us worse this season. Patterson was our only good interior defender beside Asik. Delfino had no business defending Okafor down low.
I'd say he's a average interior defender. Lets not forget all the countless nights the other teams PFs would abuse both Marcus and Patterson on the boards and inside.
this is not about who is superior... It's about the strategy going through Okafor or Nene inside Patrick at least would help a little more than Delfino, at least putting a body to bang down low
The only interior defender worse than Patterson was Morris. McHale was out coached, and let his players shoot way too many 3s. Not having a TO at the end of the game of a close game is unbelievably stupid.
Meh, If Okafor used that same hook on Patterson the result would have been exactly the same any ways. How about looking at what D-Mo did the entire game? Made great passes, got on the glass, gave the team energy. He gave the team a lot more than just stretching the floor and putting a body on someone. Many nights Patterson was outplayed. Plain and simple.
Yeah, D-mo wasn't the reason the team lost. Okafor used a pretty obvious hook to even get past Delfino. If that was D-Mo, he would have at least flopped
I thought TRob might have helped enough for a win after Smith went down. Too bad traded Rockets players prefer horseback as a means of travel these days.
