Hmm. Pirates are technically last place in the NL Central, but they're only 4 games under .500. And they're tied with the Reds. Yes, those Reds. They're riding a 4 game winning streak, and their road record is just a little under .500. The only stat that stands out particularly negatively is they only have a .300 record against teams >.500, which is the worst in the NL as a whole. Still, not a team to be taken lightly. Time to start another winning streak, 'Stros, with no excuses.
NL Central has to be the toughest division top to bottom. No crap teams, all the teams are above or just below 500.
Last place teams are only 6 games back from first, so they're all well in the race, and they're going to play that way.

Few reasons I can think of. 1. That bregman/brantley combo of plate discipline and OBP is really scary to pitchers. 2. Alvarez earlier in order means more ABs for him. 3. Most importantly, more men on base for Yordan to drive in.
