The redeeming value for Tyler White's fatness is that he makes the rest of his teammates look thin and fit.
Ensberg's shoulder ended his prime then his career in rapid succession. Let me know when White has an injury other than a broken hitting bone.
I seriously think he might be as fat as me, but I’ve also heard the camera adds 15 pounds so who knows. The fact that he finally had a job coming into spring training and decided to show up looking like that is so perplexing to me.
Tyler White is dead player walking. Unlike Kemp, who is starting to hit, White has no other usefulness. Kemp can play IF/OF and can pinch run. There are MUCH better options at AAA. Either White gets traded in the next few weeks or is just released.
White is easily the most disappointing player on the Astros this season, both because of his poor play and his questionable conditioning. His lack of consistent production is sticking out like a sore thumb compared to just about everyone else on the team. I'm increasingly getting the impression that he's not quite 100% committed to winning, improving or giving his best effort. Hopefully I'm wrong and he's just in a prolonged slump. In any case, unless he turns it around soon at the plate, I think his days in this lineup are numbered.
Why is he so fat doe? Never forget. http://bbs.clutchfans.net/index.php?threads/the-tyler-white-wager.269005/#post-10019540
Whide deserves the criticism he is getting, but his numbers (.617 OPS) make him look like an All-Star compared to Stassi (.379 OPS). Offensively speaking, Stassi is by far the worst player on the team to this point.
The real question is why is Tyler White still in the lineup instead of Marisnick? And we need to cut Stassi loose and find another backup catcher.
Cuz White struggling is still an average offensive player and he has had runs when he’s the best hitter on the team. I doubt they’re losing any sleep over their backup catcher hitting below average when the team as a whole is hitting better than the 1927 Yankees.
He is well below average and when has he ever been the best hitter on the team? He is worse than below average. A sub .400 OPS is pitiful.
AJ Hinch today on White's playing time: "It's going to be a little more sporadic" https://www.houstonchronicle.com/sp...te-s-playing-time-to-diminish-as-13848747.php
