I hope I’m wrong but the possibility of another Morris twin in Houston doesn’t excite me at all.

Is "one step" better than "2 yard line" ?

He represents a upgrade at a position of need and can provide floor spacing. What's not to like?

I saw a tweet yesterday that Markieff has been cleared to play.
I was thinking that no info on where he will sign could be good news given that HOU can't sign anyone til the 22nd. Usually a guy gets waived and a minute a later we know where he is headed to sign.

It's pretty funny how our love of the Rockets (and sports fans' love of sports in general) can make us look at someone worth nearly $5B, who just spent $2B on a basketball team, and come up with the assessment: "He's cheap."

I want to be so cheap that I spend TWO BILLION DOLLARS on something.

Yeah, but when you make your players buy their own Aspercreme and then tell them they can write it off on their taxes.....

I have no problem with it if he wasn't trying to play a double standard here.

Sure, as long as Harden is here, the team will always be on the brink of being a contender no matter how bad his teammates are.

You can't just say to the media, we do everything to win a championship.

He didn't do everything, merely enough. Just say we are lucky to be in the playoffs or some ish like that.

He's MARGINALLY better rebounder per 100 than PJ Tucker.

He's not a better 3 point shooter than PJ Tucker. Not necessarily bad ... they can be about the same depending on the year. PJ's a better career 3 point shooter and has a better season % this year and last year.

It's hard to see him more physical than PJ, though indeed he brings a presence.

I think he COULD bring basically another Tucker type, and given that with that comes a lot of inconsistency, and that the Rockets don't really have a bench PF, it is as good an add from the waiver wire to fill an empty position as could be available... assuming health. But I have no misunderstanding, he is what he is.

The irony of how we once had Marcus and Markieff was the undisputed better of the two and now we might get Markieff when Marcus has somehow become the better of the two.

It doesn't take a generous person to put 2 of their 5 billion in an asset that is guaranteed to increase in value rapidly while generating $40m+ profit on top of that every year. That's a no brainer. Doing such a thing is no indication of whether someone is cheap.

My larger concern is when TF purchased the franchise he talked about his kids taking over the basketball ops in time.

My larger concern is the long term health of a player who goes to the line 10+ times a game for 6+ consecutive years. They better go all in this summer, or we will be one of those franchises that wasted a championship calibre talent.

That makes sense, except that "generous" isn't the opposite of "cheap."

Hey, I'm not defending the guy, I just thought it was funny that we're calling someone "cheap" who just spent more money than ALL OF US COMBINED will ever earn.
