I knew this crap was coming back when we had a new Melo thread every hour. Melo has and always will be about Melo. His skills have not been elite in anyway shape or form for several seasons. Thankfully Morey wasn't able to pay him max money. That would have been his death nail. The Rockets have Harden and CP3 with a decent mix of players. Start focusing on defense instead of drama and the wins will come back. It looks like that is already turning around.
Like @tinman pointed out, when McGrady the quitter says its time to call it quits, it really is time to call it quits. An endorsement from Scottie Quitten should seal the deal.
That is borderline amusing but still a little BS. Melo can't stay in a place where he can't be showcased if he does not want to retire this year. As much as he may like Houston the city and the organization. I think he tries to stay in the league at least another year or two. And yeah Dwyane Wade is better at keeping himself in the league!
Melo's such a good locker room guy. Didn't you know great teammates leak things like this to the media while the team is getting itself out of a hole? Didn't you know great teammates care about their "role" independent of how the team is doing? Didn't you know great teammates just want to selfishly take rhythm shots and get into their own zone so they can take playground style contested jab step turnaround fadeaway mid range jumpers? What a great teammate this guy is, we're so unlucky to be losing a glue guy like him.
oh how these forums have turned around. everyone saying he was going to be great here. Who else stood by and called this right after the first rumor of him wanting to come here? lol
Can see Ryan Anderson now: Man, Rockets are just silently not playing him anymore like they did me. How come I didn't get any media fanfare? I mean, by benching me, Rockets became best team in the league. That makes me more important, right?
We gave him a chance. He pissed it away. What's the point of giving Melo 20 games to then end up the same Melo taking the same shots playing the same piss poor defense that has gotten him booted out of his last 2 teams? The numbers are clearly bad, and he wants to keep doing what makes the numbers bad. How on earth could that mean WE didn't give HIM a chance?
[press conference] Sean Deveney: "Ryan, why are you suing ESPN and the NBA?" Ryno: "It's collusion. The Rockets don't play Melo and the Earth tilts off its axis. Me they didn't play last season and what? Nothing. No attention. No media. What's that all about? I have a hot wife. You've seen her. I'm not ugly, right? Hey, I even dunked last year. Sure, I had to take Advil afterward for a week until I was borderline-needing dialysis, but it was a dunk." FOX Sports: "Ryan, do you think this is reverse discrimination?" Ryno: "Well, I was gonna go there. I don't want to get beat up in the locker room, amiright?"
I was never a fan of Melo, i always thought it was worth a try, we gave him the chance to be for once a useful player and part of something special, he blew it. Dude is 34, never won ****, never made something relevant in the league...now he had the chance to be part of a great enviroment, and the only thing he cares of is his role/touches/status etc...just move on and let his delusional ego ruin another team.
Stephen A smith: I was told Lakers offered Melo a spot off the bench and Melo didn’t return their call
