Even if you trade Gordon its not enough to get assets to get rid of Anderson without taking anything back. Other teams aren't dumb. They are not gonna allow Houston to build a power team unless the Rox pay them for it thats why they had to give up a pick to get rid of Lin who was actually a decent player for his deal. Like I said instead of thinking in hypotheticals think of which teams would be ok with giving enough assets for Gordon than you can pawn off Anderson.

You are just dreaming about pies in the sky. It would take a miracle to pull this off because Anderson's salary is so big just add 5M you already have enough for a max player. Which team would rather have Anderson than a max player?

Why trade a top 3 player in this league who wants to be here for a glorified role player? Pretty sure Lebron isn’t looking at Houston to team up with a guy he’s battled against in the finals the last three years.

Really, you went there? If you don’t understand the difference then there’s no point. Bad example and illogical.

There is no difference, since when was it mandatory for superstars in their prime to take a discount? By taking the max he is already underpaid because there is a limit to what these guys can make.

Harden IS the Houston Rockets at this point, he is the reason Nene, Dwight, Cp3 etc all came here. Asking him for a discount on top of making the Rox relevant is just dumb.

They were both 8.3m cap hits and 15m salaries at a time the salary cap was almost half what it is now. But literally repeating the same things that were said then and running with the literal same justification is going to end in literally the same outcome.

Which will undoubtedly lead to the same situation happening again in a few years time, the same things said, the same outcome, it's how this seems to work.

Honestly, if you didn't learn the last time, that how you're describing the way league, or any negotiation works isn't how it works, then you will never learn. The teams aren't trapped in some sort of myopic "we can't let x get y" happen.

Thats not how the salary cap works. It’d have to be an opt and trade. Or we’d have to lose literally everybody except harden and cap to get LBJ

Both LBJ and CP3 would have to take massive pay cuts, but it is possible. Chances are the Rockets would have to lose Gordon as well, but one can dream...

No, not max. He recruited Melo, just like he'll recruit _____________ _______________. He'll make the numbers work. CP3 wants to WIN more than ANYTHING. The window is closing . This is his best chance. He'll work the numbers accordingly.

You guys don't want CP3 b****ing about the Rockets for the rest of his life do y'all? Look at Barkley, he won't shut up. Pay the man.

It's pretty obvious that CP & Morey have a plan. CP will be signed and the Rockets will have a 5 year window with prime Harden with CP help. And likely additional all star help.

Why on earth would Ariza and Luc sign for the vet min? That's crazy.

Thinking all these professional athletes are going to happily sign for much less than their market value is like thinking a supermodel would really prefer to be with just a regular guy. It may happen, but rarely.
