Negative. They will re-animate my corpse, Jason Voorhees-style, every two years that another of these is released. It will be difficult watching the movies with desiccated eyes through the hockey mask, but I will manage. Note to wife: Do not cremate.
Wonder if Disney would ever redo the prequel trilogy, and we can erase those 3 George Lucas movies from existence.
Something darker and grittier. Rated R Star Wars! Still love the franchise though, just a want not a need.
damn.. can they sustain the star wars name and public interest by that time? most of us will be too old or gone by then. don't think the next generation appreciates star wars like the past generation that saw the original as a kid. i know my nephews are more interested with this superhero era and they don't really care, nor understand the original SW trilogy. they know about it, but who has the time..
I guess I am in the minority. But I would Love a Jar Jar movie where he is severed limb by limb. The Ewoks eat his flesh, reproductive organs, and lastly his soul. You can skip the Death Star part though.
I don’t have Star Wars fatigue but definitely have Force fatigue. Every movie is centered around the force or jedis or sith. I am so so so sick of it. Not even watching this current trilogy. On the other hand, I really loved Rogue One. Great example of Star Wars being great with just ordinary people. Really hoping the new trilogy focuses more on the blue collar working class of the Star Wars universe.
Since the Empire in Star Wars is essentially the Third Reich, then just think about all the great war movies out there which could be 'homaged' into the Star Wars universe.. Casablanca.. Force Ten from Navarrone.. Saving Private Ryan... heck if you want to get really meta with it, Raiders of the Lost Ark.. lol I would watch that!
From Disney? On one of their premier cash cow properties? Even if another audio besides Disney owned Star Wars, they stay away from R movies since the serious money is in PG13, family appropriate movies.
To reiterate, I don't think Disney is worried about their investment. It was only (ha ha... only) $4 Billion. They'll make that on the current trilogy alone...
