If it is an over-the hill thing, King James would not embarrass himself to say we got a gem.

This is not the Barkley trade where we gave up not only youth, but proven championship winners in Cassell and Horry. Here, other than Beverley, the rest of the players are at best mediocre NBA players, and at worst D-League scrubs. Nothing too special about what we gave up for a 9-time all star.

I don't think you're giving Lou Williams enough credit.

credit for what. hes a scorer. that's it. he was always just a luxury when you still have the better player and reigning 6th man on the team still.

he was acquired to double down on a postseason run just to see what happens and roll the dice as they go. played very well in the okc series and just like any other role player struggled in the next series. and still was inconsistent during the reg season. I was a pretty big fan of lou but he was always going to be a piece once you got the opportunity to get someone better

You know what, I did forget about Lou. Lol

Still, Morey would do this trade everyday of the week and twice on Sundays. When you have a chance to get a superstar who has shown no decline for the last 5 years (credit for the Clutch poster for those stats), you just do it.

Cliff Paul would've done a better job than James Harden in G6 last year.

He is not an at-best mediocre or d-league player. That's what he said in his post.

I think the Clippers would do this trade everyday too. Chris Paul was about to walk away for nothing but instead they got back a 1st rounder, Lou Williams (who was worth a first rounder just a few months ago), a 1st team defensive all-NBA point guard and some other prospects. This was a good deal for the Clippers too considering Paul was going to opt out.

We will be fine for a couple years but towards the end of that $205 million dollar contract (which you best believe CP3 will ask for every penny of) it will bite us, Guys who are 6 foot nothing don't tend to play well past 35... but if you win a title in the next 3 years it's worth it

Chris Paul's Real Plus Minus was second in the league last year at 7.92. Just 0.5 behind Lebron's 8.42 and ahead of Curry, Westrbook, Durant, Leonard and hell even Harden.

Chris Paul is very similar to a guy like John Stockton. He has played over 200 less games than Lebron in just the regular season alone.

He will be playing effectively until he is 39-40. 32, 33, 34, 35, 36, 37 he is going to be nice, nice, nice.

Yeah I think his game allows him to play into his late 30's AS LONG AS he stays healthy. If, like Nash, he has health issues, he will be a liability to the roster if he's missing full or more than half of seasons, but if he's healthy he's enough of a pure point guard, and floor general to be a very very valuable player even beyond his athletic ability to break defenses down with his speed. His defense could be where we see the biggest drop in about 2 seasons, but offensively he's still going to be viewed as a pretty damn good point guard.

Chris Paul is just a crazy well rounded player, he excells in basically all facets and he does it without being explosive.

His flopping has always been aggravating as hell, but he is a very, very smart player, and everything about his game should age very well.
