Not sure why people are surprised.

He was bound to make it as the only player that won 0 playoffs series in 8 tries!!!!

When you think about it, that is truly a remarkable accomplishment.

There's a chance he might become the only HOFer to not have his jersey retired by any team. He didn't leave ORL on very good terms, as I recall. He quit on them, and he quit on the Rockets.

Le$ will not miss a chance to snag another HOFer for his collection. T-Mac has been buddies with Alexander for years and I'm sure he's getting his jersey retired here

Do you think ORL will retire his jersey? HOFer with 2 scoring titles there, more games started than with the Rockets.

Mcgrady's jersey is definitely going up in the rafter. Les sat side by side with him on several home games over the past few seasons, so the relationship seems ok there. Tinmac on the other hand is a different story lol.

Don't goad him. We need to put tinman on suicide watch for a week or two.

I'll ask you, too: Do you think ORL will retire his jersey -- HOF, with two scoring titles while there, more games started than the Rockets, same amount of playoff appearances -- 3.

I don't follow the Magic, but if the Magic's owner is good with him, his jersey will be retired there too.

Yeah, I understand your point that he's buddy-buddy with Les, unlike Barkley. But I still have an opinion on whether he deserves to be retired as a Rocket or Magic based upon performance. Do you not have an opinion as an NBA fan whether you think his jersey deserves to be retired by ORL, independent of owner relationships?

Well its odd that they didn't "save" T-Mac's number. I remember T-Mac actually changed his number to 3 with us the same time we signed Ariza in 2009, which is why Ariza was able to get number 1. But even then, after we traded Ariza away, we let other players like Terrence Williams and Canaan have number 1 until Ariza came back. Weird situation because if T-Mac does get his jersey retired, it would be 1 and usually teams save the number from anyone else.

Apparently the Thunder saved Harden's 13 "out of respect" to him lol. Pretty strange.

Also what happens when you want to retire a player that changed his number in the middle of his career with the same franchise aka Kobe Bryant? Will he get both 8 and 24 retired?

Not surprised. If Yao got in, not way Tmac wouldn't. I think the bigger story is Webber not getting in.
