The situation is too toxic in Waco right now. Very few coaches with other opportunities are going to want to be anywhere close to that program for a few years. Less pressure to win right away at Purdue. They kept their last coach for four years even though his record was only 9-33. Brohm will be given time to try and build the program. All he has to do is go .500% and his job will be safe for years.
I said the same months ago. They will have to seriously overpay. I'd throw the kitchen sink at Les Miles if I were a Baptist.
I always remember Kentucky, because they're rarely good and have a good basketball program. Vandy - the obligatory private school. Kansas? Basketball. Iowa State - pretty close to Purdue, but for whatever reason I remember them. Purdue I gloss over. Completely forget they exist.
Brohm accepted 20M over 6. Baylor offered Morris 5 million per. My guess is that Baylor didn't offer Brohm that type of money. Let's see how this all plays out. I think they have certain numbers in mind for different guys
Was the 5MM for Morris ever confirmed? Hard to believe they'd shell out that kind of cash for him, let alone him turning it down (regardless of buyout for A&M). That is a ton of cash.
Good coaching can change things quickly, just take a look at how Wisconsin went from big ten door mat to top of big ten when they hired Alvarez years ago.
Mike Gundy wasn't at the Alamo Bowl presser today. People think he might be interviewing with Baylor but I can't see him taking the job. I'm guessing he could be in play for Oregon.
He has a 7 year contract so it seems they all know it's a rebuilding project. He's going to have a lot to deal with. I'm pretty confident the NCAA is going to take away scholarships and ban postseason play for a couple years once they complete their investigation.
