Changing coaches will not have the effect people think it will. Coaching isn't great, but it isn't as bad as people are saying either. Look at the Warriors, that team had guys develop rapidly like Draymond Green and getting back a healthy bogut. Point is that part of the problem is coaching, and part of it is personnel. You can't put everything on the coach. It's just one important factor.
If you coach is average or above it will not hurt you, but if you coach is this level of incompetent it will. Sorry but we have a last 10 game of losing close game when everything can be track down to giving Terry and Brewer to many minutes. With all this analytics you can't figure that they are a negative every single game, and you lose game but less that 5 points. He is just an awful coach.
True but in his case, I think coaching is very important. This team was in the conference finals with a worse roster. The Rockets upgraded without losing any key pieces except for Josh Smith. Slow start lead to the firing of McHale. While he is not the best game coach, he was the personality manager this team so badly needs. Egos like Dwight's and Harden's require common ground for them to mesh. McHale was that guy. In fact, I truly believe he was hired over the other options to execute Moreyball and manage superstar personalities. McHale's coaching resume was/is nothing to write home about. The other candidates at the time were young up and coming assistants that were credited for their respective teams' success one way or another. They were also coming from great mentors. Carlisle and Pop. I don't care for Dwight. His skill set on offense is outdated. He brings it on defense, but his demand to be involved in the offense as a low post player is not worth his defense. Especially since he pouts and shuts down even on defense when he doesn't get fed the ball in the post. I'd give him more touches if he could make better decisions, but a simple double team flusters him easily. Harden is the one we need to appease. We have to get him to listen and buy into the next coach. Otherwise, he will ISO all day. Someone has to be able to tell him to run the play without him despising the coach. The only two coaches I know have reached him are Coach K and Thibs from the USA team experience. Alas, if Durant wants Brooks, you hire Brooks if it means Durant signs here.
So, we all agree replacing a terrible coach with an even worse version with same philosophies was probably a bad idea?
Meh. Mods and Clutch are probably just as pissed. They will probably let this one stand a bit longer.
A poster who just joined this month has such strong feelings against the coach, GM, and the owner? Plus has the screenname of a specific player who's done almost nothing for the franchise? Slow down, troll  Not saying I disagree with you, but damn, your passion went from 0 to 1,000 muy rapido.
Has cronyism and favoritism seeped into the Rockets organization and team? Did Bickerstaff get his job through cronyism and favoritism due to his father at the time? Would it follow that the way he would conduct himself will be through cronyism and favoritism if he were to be in charge as the coach?
JB first became an assistant when he was 25 freaking years old. Background, my daddy was an Nba player. Before that he went to a private rich school where they filmed Mean Girls starring Lindey Lohan. These pretty much sums it up.
LOL! Good catch... Brain-Freeze I guess? Spoiler Or maybe the Rockets have finally made me comatose!!! ....... ....... .......
Brewer is terrible. I don't understand how he goes in and misses shot after shot and JB leaves him in.. He is worse than McHale.
