with the lack of live sports, I realized I don't watch much of anything I couldn't get streaming anyway... so thinking of cutting the cord. however if I do cut the cord -what are the best options for sports. specifically which streaming services are best to let you dvr games and watch later. preferably without much buffering issues.

FuboTV is the only streaming service that has AT&T Sports SW for when sports return. Downside is that there is no ESPN (no contract with Disney so no stations owned by them are on this service)
I just quit Comcast in April because they were unwilling to go down in price compared to what I would've gotten via streaming. I went with YouTube TV and bought 2 Rokus. But if they are raising they're prices by $15, that puts me back at square one and nearly equal to what I got with Xfinity. Does anyone have recommendations on streaming TV services? YouTube TV is too much at $65. I would go with Sling TV but most of the local channels require an antenna, and a different device to connect antenna. I'd rather have everything centralized on the app
Still cheaper than renting equipment and being stuck in a contract. In my opinion it is too high for YTTV though. I’m just waiting for nba to finish up and then I’m cutting YT.
I'm switching to Spectrum cable Internet but was debating on going with a combination of YouTube TV + Philo to replace the cable portion. I guess I'll stick with Spectrum, but their DVR solution absolutely sucks. Thanks for posting this.
lol personally I just use family members accounts for everything. I got Hulu, Netflix, Disney, Prime, and then with the access codes from an AT&T account all the channel apps xbox has to offer (espn, showtime, hbo, stars, fx, national geographic, and over a dozen more). I watch all the UFC/NBA/Boxing matches I want from streams. That combined with youtube, video games I'm very content with my access to digital entertainment. The only downside to it all, is I can't record sports anymore, which I used to do when I had cable. I would go hoop, come home and eat, put the Rockets on around 10 pm and fast forward all the commercials/halftimes, which was really nice. Now I have to catch it when it's on.
Do you really need live TV? If you do, why not just buy a fancy antenna for local stuff and buy Hulu for every else. Man I have been a cord cutter since about 2008. I spend most of my time watching YouTuber at this point. There is not much TV that I watch anyway, and hardly anything that I watch live.
Oof. Didn't know this was happening. Is it time to reconnect the cord. All these separate services really add up now.
I just use an OTA antenna for football (I just don't watch the ESPN stuff). A friend gave me their password for comcast, so I can watch live TV that way if I really want to. If I really want my own stuff (say basketball playoffs), I'll go ahead and get Sling or something, but only for a few months. I like the digital services, because you're able to go on and off when you want.
I have YTTV and it does save me $ versus my old spectrum cable package. Don’t like this price hike but, with Android tv, I prefer the experience.
So is Sling TV Orange + Sports add on the best deal to get TNT, ESPN, and NBA TV at $30+$10? I used to get YTTV during basketball season. Their cloud dvr and multiple streams at once is nice, but not $65 nice if I can get sling for $40.
My FuboTv subscription is going up as well. BUT to be fair they are adding ESPN, ABC, etc. So I won't have any problems watching the NBA again.
