A source with knowledge of the Rockets’ plans said Danny Green, Jeremy Lamb, Al-Farouq Aminu, DeAndre Jordan, Brook Lopez and Kevon Looney are also possible targets. But Butler, make no mistake, is the dream addition. This is from an article from Sam Amick posted on the Athletic. I’m not sure if anyone posted this already. I did not see it in the feed. If someone has please feel free to delete. Who do you want to see the Rockets pick up from this list?
Yeah, it was posted here http://bbs.clutchfans.net/index.php?threads/amick-rockets-rhetoric-or-reality.299677/page-2
Keeping Capela only works if we supplement with adding Lopez. But I am sure that he will get more money than we have to offer. DD
Who are this year's James Ennis and MCW? I am thinking maybe it's time for a reunion with Rockets legends Prince Luc and Trevor Ariza. Both guys had crappy seasons in 2018-19 and should now be within Tilman's price range.
LMAO...Kevin Love? Maybe a few years ago he would have been pretty good. Dude can’t stay healthy though. Hard pass for me. I wouldn’t mind Brook Lopez. Dude can actually shoot the three. That adds spacing that we haven’t had since Yao was here at the C position. Stealing Kevon Looney from the Warriors works for me as well. Though it’s probably more likely that we bring in DeAndre Jordan at this point. Maybe next year, we will have a starting 5 of: Paul Harden Butler Tucker DJ/Lopez/Looney That’s a pretty good starting 5 to me.
In the case of us moving all of Capela, Gordon, Tucker and Nene, using a full non-taxpayer MLE, and BAE. From the target players, I don't like Lamb as he's going to be demanding more money then he's worth IMO, and I think Warriors easily match a Looney MLE offer considering how well he played in the playoffs, and that KD and Cousins are likely gone. Full non-taxpayer MLE options - Centers - B.Lopez, D.Jordan, D.Dedmon Forwards - T.Young, J.Green, A.Aminu Guard - D.Green BAE options - Centers - N.Noel, R.Holmes, N.Vonleh, E.Davis Forward - T.Ariza, D.Carroll Guard - W.Ellington Veteran minimum options - Centers - K.O'Quinn, M.Muscala, C.Diallo, S.Mejri Forwards - D.House, T.Sefelosha, M.Scott, A.Toliver, Jeff Green Guards - A.Rivers, K.Pope, R.Bullock, J.Holiday, G.Temple
We need to get size / length & athleticism. Rocket iso / GSW small ball is not going to work very well as the league changes. They want a new look to the product to market. Look what the pelicans did to us last year and the Bucks / Raptors / 76ers / Celtics / Jazz / Nuggets did to the league. Lakers / Mavs are turning it around next season with size / length & athleticism, too. Capela and Tucker (thick 6’6”) alongside an aged Nene will not get it done. The days of Chuck Hayes were silly, IMO, let’s not repeat them, please. We don’t need or want an all star at every position but role players looking the part is a start.
