I just found out I've got a ticket on the 5th row of the 2nd section on the floor, dead center (25 rows back).

Going with 5 buddies I grew up with. We attended many concerts at the Compaq together and decided that this was a good reason for a big blowout. The "pre-party" begins at my house that afternoon.

We will probably skip Billy Bob Thornton, but all of us want to be there for Los Lobos.

    Anyone else going???

I'd love to see Los Lobos and ZZ Top. Sadly, well not sadly, I'll be on my way to the Windy City that day.

I hear ya. I've seen both Los Lobos and ZZ Top a dozen times each, but like I said, my buddies and I thought this was too good of an opportunity for a blow out not to go.

Especially since 4 of the 5 guys I'm going with are married and always on the lookout for an excuse to party!:D

I went to the Eliminator Tour back in the day. My best friend's Dad used to play drums with Billy and Dusty back in high school. He has reel-to-reel tape of the 3 of them "jamming".

Anyway, he gets backstage passes whenever they come to town, so we got backstage passes and he told us that he would have to go in first and make sure it was OK for us kids to go in. He came out about 15 minutes later and said "OK, let's get out of here". To this day, I don't know what he saw, but I sure wish I did. :D

I remember at that concert, they had a dummy fall from the top of the stage during the last song. Everyone thought is was a real guy. Still not sure what was up with that...

    Speaking of Eliminator

I was working for Bromo Distributing in Houston when this record came out. Bromo was the distributor for Sound Warehouse. Anyway it was around 1984 if I recall and all of us at Bromo got invited to an opening night private party for the tour.

Now at this time CDs were just getting started, so at the party they had a demo of the difference between CDs and Vinyl.

Having never heard CDs before, everyone went wild.

It was a great party until I got a little wasted and sat on the "Eliminator" car! The guys didn't like that too much!

But man! What a party! Everything was flowing! And I mean EVERYTHING!!!

Got my tix. I'm very pumped. Never seen either band before. My wife saw ZZ Top at her after-prom party in high school (Waltrip) over 30 years ago.
