I just wanted to check in with anyone who has seen this flick yet, as I couldnt find any threads on the topic.

all in all, it was one of those leave your brain at the door movies, but thats exactly what this country needs right now, some all out hysterical goofs and gags, and what better way then to poke fun at the male modeling industry- I mean the WHOLE MOVIE is about male models! dont take the film seriously, and you will be pleasantly surprised.

Ben Stiller does a fine job directing again after Reality Bites and The Cable Guy, and as the title character, Derek Zoolander, he is absolutely genius. He took his character from The Ben Stiller Show in which he makes fun of Beverly Hills 90210-24538753 and developed an entire character on a ridiculously good looking, dim witted actor/model.

They even make fun of actors/models and other "Slashies"(actor/rapper, actor/director.....)

Anyway, I think it was a great idea although it gets a little trite trying to believe the ludicrous story line, I think you all should check it out and give some feedback.

Who was Ben Stiller in "The Cable Guy"?

The two main characters were Jim Carrey and Matthew Broderick...

"Wetness is the essence of moisture"

I'm sorry, but that is the most classic line in a movie...ever...

Eagerly waiting for The Royal Tenenbaums to open up...

    Awesome movie!

It was the first movie I've seen since 'the day', and I'll admit that laughing for a couple of hours does wonders.

This movie was weak and quite far from "genius".

I thought it was pretty funny. But I compared it to Mystery Men. MM was funny but kinda dumb sometimes. Thats how I felt bout this one. The best part of the movie is when Derek's roomates spray themseleves with gas and then ......... ( well i didnt want to spoil it )

I can't see how anyone didn't find the movie funny.

I haven't seen it yet, but I'm looking forward to it - the last couple of Ben Stiller movies I have seen have been hilarious - Something about Mary, Meet the Parents..

LOL Your personal attack is quite weak. You can't even discuss a movie without attacking someone? Grow up!

Sorry, but this movie is easily the funniest of the year. Any movie with Owen Wilson, Ben Stiller and Will Ferrell in it has to be close anyway, but I laughed non-stop from beginning to end. It just seems that Timing and SamCassell don't have good sense of humors.

My favorite part was the whole bulemia quote, not because of the quote, but because of the look on Hansel's face after he figured out what Derek said.

I have a very good sense of humor thank you very much. Someone in this thread said this movie was genius and I said it was far from it. In fact, Something About Mary and Meet the Parents are much MUCH funnier Ben Stiller films, not to mention just better movies.

As for this being easily the funniest movie of the year, I have to completely disagree. Rush Hour 2 is funnier and a better movie. American Pie 2 is also funnier and a better movie. Jay and Silent Bob is probably a bit better than Zoolander as well.

There are funny parts in the movie but the best lines in Zoolander are already in the trailer, just watch the trailer and save your money.
