Zogby Poll: Republicans Hold Small Post-Convention Edge

But the race is tight, as both campaigns consolidate support

UTICA, New York - Republicans John McCain and Sarah Palin left St. Paul, Minnesota, with a smallish bounce overall and some energy in key demographic groups, as the race for the presidency enters a key stage and voters begin to tune in to the contest, the latest Zogby Interactive poll finds.
Data from this poll is available here

The McCain/Palin ticket wins 49.7% support, compared to 45.9% backing for the Obama/Biden ticket, this latest online survey shows. Another 4.4% either favored someone else or were unsure.

people better not complain if mccain wins. 80% say we're going in the wrong direction so they better stop whining when another republican takes office.

Isn't the Zoogby poll discredited as being no good?

Seriously, don't post if you have nothing to add. Instead of posting this garbage, do a little research and present some facts to support an opinion. You can't even spell 'Zogby' correctly, indicating that you lack any experience with his polls. That alone makes your opinion of no importance.

Folks, rocketanalyist's post should have never seen the light of day. Police your own, Obamatrons. Clean up these no-content, vacuous posts.

Are you too ignorant to know that I spelled it that way on purpose?

Do you ever get out of your trailer to see the dirt lawn you live on?

Zogby gained a huge following by correctly predicting that Gore would win the popular vote and Bush would win the electoral vote in 2000. He lost a lot of it by predicting Kerry would win in 2004. He has an approach that uses phone surveys and email surveys and modeling, and it sells well to companies.

Ah...another poster who intentionally misspells the names of things/people in a feeble attempt to be clever. I just can't get enough of those.

Because all Republicans live in trailers, right? That IS what you meant, right?

    You contribute NOTHING here.

I guess the left now have their own counterpart to T_J and basso.

    Congrats.

It appears that Gallup agrees that McCain now has a slight edge. It is probably within the statistical margin of error. I still believe that this race will be a dead heat.

PRINCETON, NJ -- The latest Gallup Poll Daily tracking update shows John McCain moving ahead of Barack Obama, 48% to 45%, when registered voters are asked for whom they would vote if the presidential election were held today.

I completely agree with you there. It just strikes me as so incredibly juvenile, whether it's Hilldabeast, Nadir, LIEberman, etc. Geez, we get it folks.

This I do not agree with. I see no reason why you would assume rocketsanalyst is painting all Repub's with a brush when he specifically calls out TJ.

First, ignoramus, my post attacked the poll and not a person until your best buddy T_J came along and made it personal. So do you always run behind him to fight his battles? Or do you just follow me around and ignore all of my posts of serious content to find one light moment when I make a joke and try to trounce on it as if I have no content in any of my posts?

Seriously, you are such a professional at this, I think you would fit perfectly on the republican campaign team. You trying to compare me to T_J and basso is like the republicans trying to compare Obama to Britany and Paris. Get a life you freaking idiot!

Didn't you post that nobody would watch the Republican convention? It turns out that as many, if not more, folks watched McCain's speech over Obama's.

    oooooo...you are so forceful.

Ask anybody around here, T_J and I have often not seen eye to eye. Hence my likening of you to T_J being derogatory.

Whatever small, wavering ray of content any of your posts may have is overshadowed by your childish belittlement of those with whom you disagree as to render it meaningless. Maybe, just maybe, you will learn that one day.

I am far from alone in that comparison.

You spew some of the garbage that you do here, and you call me an idiot. Isn't irony grand?

While I would agree with you here on both accounts, I have a feeling that those watching the republican convention included a lot more voters of Obama out of curiousity because of the newcomer Palin than because we wanted to here their message.

With McCain's poor performance, and Sarah's sarcasm and disrespect for her opponents, I doubt that the short boost will be long lived. But I will admit that I am not expert at predicting the American electorate. :(

You seem to seek and need a lot of support from your fellow posters that you have known for years to validate your existence here. Do you have some self esteem issues that you need to resolve?

I really don't care what you think and who you try to get to agree with you, you are a fly seeking out the waste that comes from what I don't need. Why don't you try to write something of substance instead of trying to point out that someone else doesn't...oh...the irony indeed!

Firstly, I don't seek any support. It has just fallen out of the sky. That is mainly because I am right.

The fact that you, of ALL people, are telling somebody else to write something of substance is laughable.

Welcome to the ignore list. It should be lonely, you're the only one there.

Let's see if you are also a LIAR now. If I am on your ignore list, you won't be able to see this will you idiot?

And to think that you actually think I would care if I am on someone like your's ignore list. Talk about the height of arrogance!

I hate to interrupt this ridiculous battle of grammar-school corner-sitters, but rocketanalyist, are you aware that your own FREAKING username is misspelled?

...not exactly the mark of an Intellectual Titan, such as The_Conquistador.

You kind of proved that you did care since you chose to call him an idiot in this post and essentially "testing" him to see if he sees your post.
