I am a huge fan of Zo, and am happy to see him on the court even though he is a shell of his former self. I really wish he would have signed with the Spurs b/c they are a better fit for him in that they use their post players. I feel he is being wasted in the Nets and run and gun offense. The only time he gets the ball in the halfcourt is when time is running out on the shot clock. It is pretty frustrating. Anyone else think this.
Definitely!! I picked up Zo on my fantasy because I figured he would still be productive. Lo and behold he barely gets any minutes or touches. I'm upset with the way they've used him. He can run just as well as the other centers and he should at least touch the ball once in all their half court sets. I feel bad for you zo
He's sat out the past year + and has health issues. I suspect the Nets are still feeling the way with the guy. Relax (tho the system does, in fact, seem wrong for his skill set.)
I like Zo but he is washed up. Check out his rebounding totals. He is doing his best K-Mart impression.
He's not washed up, he just needs time to get his legs under him and game conditioning. It's not easy playing NBA games when taking 12 pills a day.
12 pills a day? That is nothing. I take 40 pills a day and I play in NBA games.... wait... no I don't. But I do take 40 pils a day. Granted they are mostly dessicated liver and goat protein pills, but it is a pain in the ass...
Give him a few more games. I think he'll gradually play a more prominent role with the Nets offense. He certainly doesn't have much competition among the centers in the East though. Hell, I think he may even make the All-Star game if he regains some semblence of his former self. Who else is there besides Ben Wallace, who has no offensive game whatsoever, and Ilgauskas? Curry is inconsistent as we all saw against the Rox, and Jermaine O'Neal is more of a power forward. Coincidentally, while we're on the topic of being wasted, what do you think is the reason for Rivaldo rotting away on the bench at AC Milan, since Rivaldo is your username?
I wasn't asked but would like to share an opionion. Hope u dont' mind. Milan, or Serie A overall plays dull tight football. Rivaldo's game is too flashy and could destabilise the Milan foundation. He would be a better fit at Newcastle.
Here an article from CNNSI.com about Rivaldo for those interested: http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2003/writers/gabriele_marcotti/10/31/marcotti.insider/ The whole situation seems very strange to me. He could've left Milan but chose to stay, but he's still not getting a whiff of playing time. He was the FIFA Player of the Year just a couple of years back, for God's sake. If he's not injured, he's still a brilliant, yet fundamentally sound, player who can help just about any club team in the world. Why didn't he leave? Why is he still rotting on the bench? What lies in his future? I'd agree with Marcotti that such a world-class talent is being wasted away here. He's 31 year old and isn't gonna get any younger.
K-Mart's 8.5 rebounds per game is pretty decent. If he is doing a K-Mart impression then he should get mad props.
They are keeping him as a talisman in later stages of CL(he is a big time player), just in case schevenchnko or Inzaghi gets injured. + Milan can afford the dole to keep him on the bench.
