These are small touchscreen devices at restaurants that enable you to place orders IPAD style. Supposedly only a Chili's, Applebees thing. They also have games and a credit card swipe. Never seen this anywhere other than Cali (small town of Tulare).. bet NY has it already too. Bartender at Chili's said she first saw them in SD one year ago and Florida also has them.

    Anyone seen these before?

    And do better Texas.

I've heard that Korea has been doing this for a while now, having touch screen menus at tables. There's also a Japanese place in Austin on SoCo where the waiters carry around iPads, place them on your table, and you can look through the menu items with pictures and order through that. Then the waiter picks up the iPad and brings it back to pay the tab.

I'm not aware of any chain that has widescale use of touchscreen table menus, but it is a new technology that hopefully will catch on more.

    LOL, thread fail.

They are in Chilis here in Houston, they've been implemented in the last few months. Slowly they'll get to all the local Chilis.

Chili's has it but it only works for drinks and desserts (what is the point? Why not just let us order everything through it?).

    Don't see how it's a fail.
Topic Title says CA and NY gets things before us (TX). The lady saw them 1 year ago in SD.. you claim you saw them a few months ago.. which backs up the TT.

So, unless... few months > 1 year
    your position is a fail.

True, the lady said 6 out can't order everything. Pretty silly to have it limited.

They're here in Round Rock, too. You can pay your bill at your table, which is nice in that you don't have to wait for the server to run your card, nor hand your card to a stranger.

But the ads that run constantly during the meal are a big turn-off. :(

I think the first full implementation of this technology was done by Stacked in California. You can customize your burgers/salad/fries/etc while you are seated or send your order before getting to the restaurant (internet).

Server's job is to bring you food and drinks, that's it. It's on the pricey side but was enjoyable.

Only time I really go is in small towns. Towns with no Buffalo, TGIF, Twin Peaks or BJs.

I went to a chili's in Alexandria that had that. None of the restaurants I went to in NYC have there.

I guess that sounded coming off as a douchebag. But, I'll eat chilis every now and then just because.

Do better and don't eat at Chili's. What is this 1998?
