If PJax is free this summer, I would fire JVG and go after him.

JVG's barking is right for Kenyon Martin, not Yao Ming.

PJax and the triple post would be the right move this offseason. Trade Francis for Carter or Allen, and Big Chief Triangle would have the explosive options he utilized in Chicago and LA. I know you all hate him, but he is the best fit to blend finesse with gritty defense, and use superior team intelligence to defeat deeper opponents.

i'd have nightmares even thinking about our guards trying to run the triangle.

I'd rather lose with Van Gundy than win with Phil Jackson. I seriously dislike that guy.

I'd take him, because that would mean we would be a championship contender.

I cannot believe that many seemingly smart Rox fans bash PJ. The guy has won as many rings as any coach, dead or alive. If you ccould point to me a championship coach who had lead a team of Clippers to a championship then I would be really impressed.

Riley won 5 rings with Magic and Jabbar. Coach T. won 2 with the Dream. The great coach A of the old Celtics had Russell and companies.

If you do not like a coach, it is fine to just say it. But to call a great coach something he is not is NOT¡¡COOL.

Not gonna happen? How many coaches contract do you want Les to eat? He's still had to pay Rudy on top of JVG's contract, I can't even fathom what it would take to buy out JVG's contract, he may decide to stay 15 million below the cap just to offset the costs next season.

if Jackson is a joke, I do not know what the rest of the coaches would be.

There is one problem. Red Auerbach actually built that team. Ditto Riley and to a certain extent Rudy. Don't even insinuate for one moment that Phil Jackson is in the same class as those greats (especially Auerbach).

The ability to build a championship team is not the qualification of a coach. That is the job of a GM.

Like it or not, PJ will have at least one more ring than Coach A.

Jackson is good at pushing an elite team over the top, and unfortunately the Rockets are not an elite team just yet.

    This whole discussion is moot.

Phil Jackson won't come to Houston until Yao Ming becomes unquestionably the best player in the league.

    That's his M.O. people.
Go to the team that already has the best player in the league.
    Win a few championships.
Continue being an overrated coach. :p

I don't know if PJ is good for Rox, but I won't call him overrated.

MJ couldn't win Championship until Phil became the head coach.
Kobe and Shaq couldn't win Championship until Phil became the head coach. The bulls almost went to conference final when MJ was retiring under Phil.

Great coaches are always under appreciated when they have great players. People don't realize how good Sloan is until this year.

Actually, that just shows why PJ is better than those guys. If you can build the team by getting whoever you wanted, then anyone can win.
We are talking about the coaching, not GM here!

YM, three coaches in his first three years?

Trying to pad your post count huh :D

Phil Jackson would never coach the Rockets....yet.

He only wants teams that are ready made.

Jackson hasn't coach anybody. He inherits great Teams that need reasserting. Then he gets all the credit for what others have put together and have coached.

    It's funny really.

In his first job, he had a tremendously athletic Guard who just couldn't win.

Then in his second job, he had/has a C and a Guard who couldn't mesh well.

If he could do what you say he does, that would be the solution to all our problems. Basically, you're saying he can take talent and turn it into a cohesive and winning team that reaches its perceived potential.

You know what else is funny? If he comes here, coaches, and wins with this squad, everyone will say

"Yeah, well he had Yao and Francis, who wouldn't?"
